"From saving Babes to blowing up Aliens, Duke never gets old..."

From saving Babes to blowing up aliens, Duke never gets old.
Duke Nukem fans rejoice, he's back, in an all new adventure(totally cliche), with all his one liners, shiny guns, and Babes.
Wether or not you've heard of Duke Nukem, you should give this remarkable FPS a try.

Game Play 9/10.
From killin' Pig Cops, to killin' bugs, Duke doesn't get old for a long time. Some times you'll be blastin through the levels and other times you'll be trying to tell the wall from the door. Although the game play is pretty immersive, at times it can be frustrating especially that you cant look up or down while running. The Auto aim is pretty good, but sometimes you have to stop and look up and down, which can get you killed. The weapons in DNA are sweet at that, from the ferocious lead cannon, to an MP5 the action never stops and the 'bodies hit the floor'.

Story 7/10.
Duke Nukem seems to be the only GBA FPS with a story. Which dosen't mean that its good. Basically it's the regular cliche, big guy with a gun, that kills aliens, and finds girls. The story is hard to follow, but even though we've all seen this before it's still pretty good.

Graphics 10/10.
DNA's graphics sports some of the best that I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot. Even though at long distances it is hard to see the enemy, that's expected with a small screen. Other than that the enemies, levels, and weapons look better than ever. The worlds are so detailed, that when you shoot at a computer monitor, it breaks, same with a fire extinguisher. It's hard to believe that this game cruises at a fast 30 FPS, considering the hardware of the GBA.

Controls 10/10.
The games controls are really tight, which is a good thing. It does have the standard FPS controls, A is jump, B is shoot, L&R strafe, D-Pad is move and turn. But like I said before, since the GBA dosen't have a second stick/d-pad looking Up & Down gets pretty tricky. Also its nearly impossible to switch your weapon during combat, this does get frustrating at times but after a while you learn to adapt.

Sound 9/10.
Nothin' better than droppin' some baddies and hearing Duke say 'Hail to the king baby', or finding a secret and hearing him say 'Bitchin'. The weapon and enemy sounds are also great, and the catchy Duke Nukem tune sounds great too. But sometimes the background noise (IE being in some levels and hearing a loud continueos noise) starts to drive you nuts after a few hours.

Replay Value 7/10.
After finishing Duke Nukem Advance, you might not come back to it for a week or two, but there still is the challenge of beating the game on nightmare, or going head to head with a buddy in multi player.

Rent or Buy?
I'd say BUY because a FPS this good is too much to miss out on.
