"Portable Duke!!!"

After the release date for Duke Nukem Advance was delayed due to September 11, Duke fans had to wait one whole year to see him on the Game Boy Advance. Was it worth the wait? Read on and find out.

Graphics 10/10: Now, I usually don't give tens, but the graphics are that good. The aliens are crystal clear close up. You can also see them very well in the distance. The explosions are also worth noting. They are incredibly realistic. I also liked the animation of the blood in the game. I congratulate the creators of the game on a job well done with the graphics.

Sound 9/10: The sound in the game was also well done. The aliens cry out when they die or when they are shot. The one thing that bothered me was the wimpy sound of the shotgun. It is so quiet, you can barely hear it. But all games have their flaws, right? I also enjoy the opening Duke theme.

Controls 10/10: The controls in the game are very easy to learn. They did a very good job on the controls. To aim you do the same as in most games. You hold down L and R and use the control pad to move the crosshair. To switch weapons, you just hold down select and use L/R to switch through all of your weapons.

Gameplay 10/10: Another perfect ten. Not only are you equipped with plenty of entertaining weapons, you have an effect on your environment. What I mean is if you shoot a computer it blows up, if you shoot a fire extinguisher it blows up, if you shoot a toilet it cracks and so on.

Story 8/10: Classic Duke Nukem storyline. Aliens are taking over the world and he has to save the day, no biggie.

Replay Value 7/10: This is the one bad part of the game. Once you beat it, you don't have any use for it anymore. There is nothing to earn. The only good thing about this area is the multiplayer. You can hook up with someone and have a good old fashioned deathmatch. This can give you something to do for awhile. Even with that it is still not enough to bring up this score.

Buy/Rent: I see absolutely no reason not to buy this game right now. Unless you hate first person shooters you should definitely buy this one.
