"Feel the speed and the fun with Sonic the Hedgehog"

Once again Sonic Team showed us that they can make excellent games.

In this game you control Sonic, Knuckles, Tails and Cream.
The control are really easy, a lot of them are the same then Sonic Advance but there is some new moves who makes the game a lot more interesting and challenging.

Now all the gang can do some trick when they are launch from a ramp or when they bounce from a spring. I really suggest reading the manual before playing the game, because without knowing how to do those new moves you might have troubles with some levels.

Now, talking about the game itself. If you are the kind of gamers who only want to get to the end of the game fast, you can do that in this game and you should be able to do that pretty fast. But if you want to unlock all the secrets and get everything in the game it might be a little harder. The replay value of this game is very good.
This game as something for everyone.

The music in this game is one of the best for any game on the Gameboy Advance yet. There's some level that I like to replay only to listen to the music. The graphic are good and colorful, every level has a design that really make you feel the essence of the level. It is a great addition to the speed and excitement that you get in this game.

When you control Sonic and go at top speed, you really feel the speed, it's unbelievable.

I suggest playing this game without comparing it to any of the other Sonic games. Some of the old games are different and also really good. But Sonic Advance 2 beats most of the 2D Sonic games. In my opinion all of the Sonic games are excellent, but they are all a bit different from each other, and the only way to appreciate all of them at their true value is to play each of them without trying to compare any of them together because all of them have their strengths.

Another good thing in this game is the addition of Cream the Rabbit to the team. She is really easy to play for beginner and make the game more fun for them.

And last but not least, the Tiny Chao Garden is still there.
Who can get tired of those cute little critters? With the new mini-game, the Chao Garden is, again, a lot of fun. For those who don't know what this is, the Tiny Chao Garden is a place where you can raise a Chao and, if you have Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, you can transfer you Chao to this game to raise its stats and play with him. Without Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, you can still raise and play with your Chao in the Tiny Chao Garden in Sonic Advance 2.

Here's what I would give this game:

Graphics 10/10
Music 10/10
Story line 9/10
Controls 10/10
Replay Value 10/10

I really think that you should buy this game to appreciate it, renting it would not give you a good idea of what it is. Sure you can go through the first few levels in 10 minutes, but can you really find all the secrets? You need to own the game to be able to take your time and find them all. Once you have the Tiny Chao Garden, there's no way you can return that game to a rental store. You should definitely buy this game, it's a good investment.
