Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Review by funkypunk101
"A Great GBA Fighter"
Over the years Midway has attempted many times to bring an enjoyable MK game to a portable gaming system. But everytime they have tried they have failed miserably. This time though, they succeeded. Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance is by far the best fighting game you can find on the Game Boy Advance. Please, read on.
Graphics 9/10: The graphics in this game are very good. The people are very easy to tell apart from each other and the backrounds are bright and colorful. The animation on the blood in this game was well done. I liked how it stayed on the ground throughout the match. Overall, they did a great job on the graphics
Sound 9/10: I really enjoyed the sound in this game. The yells and screams of the people getting hit are very clear. The backround music is above average for the GBA and can be enjoyable at times. Overall, I liked this area of the game.
Story 7/10: The story is just like all of the other Mortal Kombats. There are bad guys that you have to kill to save the world. Nothing special.
Controls 9/10: The controls in this game a very strange, but easy to learn. They did a good job of handling the fact that the Game Boy Advance only has 8 buttons. L changes your fighting style,R blocks,A kicks, and B punches. You will also find that it is very easy to pull of special moves and/or fatalities. This is a very good area of the game.
Gameplay 10/10: This is definately the best part of the game. There are all kinds of special moves and fatalities to add to the fun of this game. There are also ''koins'' that you earn for beating your opponents in either arcade mode or survival mode. You can use these koins to unlock things in ''the krypt.'' The krypt is a place full of about 150 koffins. Those koffins contain things like different costumes, levels, and even sometimes, hidden characters.
Replay Value 8/10: This game has a lot of replay value. Mainly because there are so many things to unlock in the krypt. But once you get everything in the game though, you will most likely lose interest.
Buy/Rent: This is seriously one of the greatest games you will find on the GBA. I see no reason not to buy it right now. So go ahead, save up your money and buy Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance today!!
