GT Advance 3: Pro Concept Racing
Review by Piramiau
"A good game, not the best, butgood."
High points:
Graphics: They are the most nice above-average graphics in GBA that I've seen. Even the additional weather and conditions effects are nice, you can drive at night, under a heavy rain...
Playability: Adequate, the beginner's class IS easy so anyone can beat all races in 1st place without a very big problem. The fact that you can unlock parts or new cars as you win races is perfect, you can manage your car making it more powerful (More speed, acceleration, etc.)
It even has 3 ''drive lesson'' classes that you must WIN before even get into a race in all the categories.
Quantity of races: There are a lot of them, so anyone can be happy. I really doubt someone will feel disillusioned, this is not a short game even if you think it's only a RACE game.
Low points:
Cars: The lowest point in the game, In my humble opinion, is that all the cars are simply yours. You can choose any car you want without limitations (like in other race games, let's say, NFS, you must sell your car to buy another one, this doesn't exist here and that makes the game a little... simplistic).
Unrealistic: There are many curves that the cars just pass with very few problems, and I mean very closed curves, almost a turn in 90° and the car yes, CAN make a whirlwind, but I still think these are almost exceptional and that the cars are very low realistic. Also you can hit a barrier and the hit in some way turn you back on road at very high speed... This results that in some circuits, you can hit EVERY barrier that is on the game and finish 1st.
Relation Reality/graphics: Even when I said that graphics are very nice for a GBA game, they are maybe too much cartoonist... I mean, in some races you can just drive THROUGH the trees, of course, sometimes you hit one, but even when you hit one you can easily retake the normal course and with only a single problem (the loss of valuable seconds and maybe one position or two)... I mean... please, you just HIT a TREE at almost 130 MPH...
Conclusion:
The game is a very good option for people who doesn't die for a ultra-high-very-realistic mode and just want to have some fun for a while.
Please, the people that are too obsessed with their drive license, just try to not take this game too serious or you will get yourself very injured =P
