Phantasy Star Collection

Phantasy Star Collection is a great game for the Gameboy Advance. It includes the first 3 Phantasy Star games. They all came out for the Sega Genesis. Every game is well over 10 years old. Even though they are old and don't stand a chance against all the new age RPGs they're still great games.

These games are very time consuming. I haven't seen all of the endings for Phantasy Star III, but I'll tell you why in that section. Be warned there are way more random battles than the average RPG these days. So if you go ''ugghhhh another random battle?'' Then this game is not for you.

Many people don't like Phantasy Star III I don't really understand why though. It has many endings and for those people who do like it they'll play it over and over and over again. Most people like Phantasy Star II the most and I can see why. It has large and easy to see characters with a nice battle system.

Phantasy Star I:

Sound--5/10

A very annoying song that plays over and over and over.

Story--4/10

They story is pretty unoriginal. Your brother gets killed by an evil king and you avenge him.

Gameplay--7/10

The gameplay is pretty easy to understand. The easiest part is that you can save anywhere you want.

Replay Value--5/10

The reason that this game has a little bit of replay value to it is because it has one sidequest. But that sidequest is needed to beat the game.

Graphics--5/10

Although the graphics are over ten years old they still aren't that good. One reason is the small characters.

Phantasy Star II:

Sound--6/10

Very much like the Phantasy Star II. Although there is different battle music, it's still very repetitive.

Story--7/10

A pretty good story line. Something has gone wrong in a lab and you must stop it.

Gameplay--7/10

The gameplay is very simplistic just like in Phantasy Star III. That can be a good thing though.

Replay Value--8/10

This game has a lot more things to collect than Phantasy Star I. That's why it's such a good game.

Graphics--8/10

Seeing as these graphics are over ten years old they're not that bad.

Phantasy Star III:

Sound--7/10

The sound is still simplistic compared to other games, but it's okay.

Story--8/10

This game has a fairly good story. Your bride is stolen and you get her back, but...

Gameplay--5/10

The gameplay is not very easy in this game because the houses are so big there isn't much to see on the screen.

Replay Value--10/10

Whooo baby. The replay value on this game is tremendous. I've had this game for about one year and haven't seen every ending!

Graphics--4/10

Very poor. That's all that can be described by it.

Overall this game is very good. For three games in one it's well worth the $30.00.

Buy or Rent:

I suggest that you should buy this game, because you won't be able to beat Phantasy Star I.
