Earthworm Jim
Review by The SpongeBobinator
"Great game...great re-make!"
This game is awesome. I loved playing it on Genesis when it first came out and now it\'s back on the GBA and better than ever.
Story: 5/10
Not the strongest part of the game. The story tells how a suit was stolen from Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Puss-Filled, Malformed, Slug for a butt that makes her more beautiful than her twin sister Princess-What\'s-Her-Name, so the Queen wants it back. While Jim is being chased by a crow the suit lands on him after it falls out of a space ship so Jim becomes \'\'evolved.\'\' Now Jim has to meet the Princess. Not the best story but it\'s a game about a worm we are talking about.
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in the GBA version are a lot better than the Genesis version. You can see the platforms that you have to land on and you can see items that you might need. Also in New Junk City (level 1) you can see each individual tire in the tire hills instead of just seeing a black hill. So if you liked the graphics in the Genesis version of Earth Worm Jim you will love the graphics in the GBA version.
Game-play: 8/10
The game-play is pretty good in this game but there are some flaws. One of the flaws is you can\'t always tell where you are shooting so you might miss you target and get hurt. Also whipping can be somewhat complicated too. Also there is no saving in this game but you shouldn\'t have to worry since the game is so short. But other than those flaws the game-play is great and you are sure to be hooked on this game until you beat it (or at least until you get game over).
Sound: 10/10
The sound in Earth Worm Jim is great. You can hear the music clearly and when he gets hit he says OW! with out any delay like in the Genesis version. The sound FX like when you shoot the plasma gun or when you whip are excellent too, no delay. So if you hate bad sound in a game you don\'t have to worry about this one.
Re-playability: 7/10
While this game is fun, exciting, and poses a challenge, it can get boring after a while. Especially if you don\'t beat it then turn it off because then you have to start over from the beginning which you might not want to do after a while. Plus you know what is going to happen and the challenge goes away. But other than that it is a fun game to play again and again.
Rent/Buy: Buy used
Even though this is a good game you might not want to spend $30 on it unless you hate to buy used games. Used you spend $15 (half the price, 50% off, etc.).
