Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters

"One of the Few great yugioh games out there!"

Konami has done horrible with most of their Yu-gi-oh games, but this is one of the few good ones that they have available. Dungeon Dice Monsters doesn’t follow the basic card game, but rather a dice game and a large game board. This game was created following the hit duo of episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh that played this game rather then the regularly played card game.

Gameplay: Players take turns rolling dice, getting crests, moving, attacking, strategize, and finally wipe each other out. It is a fun game that can be very addicting. From detailed monsters, to a large game board, the AI are very well-programmed, and it is a really tough game. You can collect many types of monsters from the card game, and some new ones added to this! The monsters are very unique, and ranger from tiny, little, weakling Kuribohs to powerful, magical Dark Magicians and even the legendary Blue Eyes White Dragon! And of course, there is the dungeon master, who is...you! You are that little guy, and you control all of the monsters that you summon. But be careful! The dungeon master can’t attack, and he can’t defend himself, and he only has 3 hearts, while he loses one every time he is attacked. Defend him well! The monsters are in 4 levels that are given according to their strength and abilities, and the higher the level, the lower the chance of a summon, so find a strategy that suits you! You can get monsters from a shop or by defeating AIs. You can also get them from trading other players. Also, you can link up with a friend and battle each other with your own collection of monsters. Overall, I give the game play a 10/10.

Story: This game doesn’t have a base storyline, instead, you play in large tournaments against the AI. There are many different AI from the manga and the anime to play, and each of them have many types of monsters and strategies. They can be stupidly easy, to surprisingly difficult to beat. Beating them unlocks more tourneys with new opponents, so try to get as good at this as you can! Overall, I give the story a 0/10, because there is none! But, I give the 1-player tourneys a 10/10!

Graphics/Sound: The graphics in this game are pretty good for a GBA game, and the monsters are quite detailed. Also, the battle animations are pretty cool, because each monster has one of their own different ones! The music in this game is okay too, but like many other games, can get annoying after a while of playing. But, the music is kind of important, because the game loses some if its feeling without the BGM. I give the graphics a 10/10, and the sound 7/10.

Playtime/Replayability: This game can take several hours to beat, but the time will seem to go very quickly. To beat this game, you must get all of the dice, and unlock all of the tournaments. This game has an endless replay value, because each game is always different from the last. Though it may take a while to beat, it is well worth your time to do so. When you do beat it, see if any of your friends can beat you!

Final Recommendation: If you like strategy games, then this is definitely a game for you. With many hours of strategic game play, you won’t get bored for quite a while. This game is easily worth the $30 retail that it has been give, so go out there and buy it as soon as possible!
