The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Review by Giraffe
"I Love it, I love it!!!"
Let me start off, by saying that many people have said many bad things about this game. I will admit that it can be glichy at times, but its the play that counts...On with the review!
Graphics 9/10: if graphics were bricks, this game would be a housing project. The characters are beautifully designed, although there is not much facial detail. The Landscapes are wonderfull, and fit the LOTR story perfect. The Backround is what truely shines in this game. They are all very well made, and detailed. In the Old Forest, the light actually shines through the trees! Good stuff people...good stuff.
Gameplay 5/10: Gameplay can be slow at times, but the great story redeems it. The puzzels are fun, very challenging, and can take up to 8 min. to complete one. Ahh yes..side quests. Not much to say here...the game has some here and there, and are moderately difficult. Battle sequences are what made this game fall. They are EXTREMELY slow, but few. The fun battles are the trolls, and other enemies with high HP and strength. I loved just playing (no matter how slow) through Eiddle Earth, and watching the characters speak lines DIRECTLY from the book...so, good job following the story. In certain places however, like the mines of moria, the stroy was changed a little bit (in good ways) to make the game more fun.(There are alot of glitches in places like; the forest, rivendell, and moria [there is a glitch in moria that prevents you from going further, so see a FAQ]so be carefull)
Story 1,000,000,000/10: Duh!! Its Lord of the Rings! I don't think anything else need be said.
Music 9/10: The only reason that music did not get a ten was because it sorta chooses when it wants to play. I.E.,*music starts, and plays through* *music stops* *17 min. later it starts again* other than that, it sounds 00ber g00d. Sound effects are not so good, and even they are not on perfect timing.
Controll 6/10: Lets just say, it takes some getting used to. in the first couple of levels, most people are still getting used to the not-so-perfect controlls. Later it all comes flowing in naturally, and they game can easily be navigated. Very few instances, can get you stuck between two objects like rocks or trees, but can also be avoided without to much trouble.
Over all 8/10: If your asking yourself weather you should by this game or just rent it, then here is my answer.. I enjoyed this game because of its LOTR based story, and play. If you like LOTR even a little get this game, or rent it to see if you like it fist. It's not for everybody. Well i guess i'm, uuhhh...done here..with my uhhh..review..uuum..yeah...bye. *dissappears in large cloud of smoke*
