Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
Review by gtaAPE
"Banjo is back again."
The bear and bird are back to whip up on Gruntilda and her minions again, but is this game worth the money you pay for it?
Story- 6
The story of this game is quite a bit lacking compared to the other two games. It's a nice idea to send Banjo and Kazooie back in time, but to be quite honest I never really felt like they were. There isn't really any difference between past and present. The different story ending depending on how u perform are humorous and add a nice touch, however(though I've only seen two). The bad guys and good guys in the game are fewer in number as well. So their are less bosses and friends to help.
Gameplay-8
The gameplay all around is good and its basically a collecting game same as the others nothing too complex about it. The only problem I really had here was the mini games. Most are very drab and boring and are repeated so many in times even if they just change one thing. The boss battles are basically the same throughout though the last one may be a bit more challenging.
Graphics-10
Nothing to complain about the animation is very smooth and has never glitched out or cheated me or anything of the sort. The characters that are present all look excellent and very much like their N64 versions.
Sound-9
The sound in this game is very good. The goofy voices that are a big part of dialogue are included and sound very good. The level music ,while not as catchy as the N64 levels music, work well with their levels. All the sound effects such as eggs and feathers are also done well if not taken from the N64 version.
Value-7
This may very from person to person. There is no real replay value unless you just want to play the game again, which i found myself doing once. This game the first time through may take 10 hours max if you take your time and make sure you get every item. For your more skilled and experienced player the game my only take 6 hours the first time through. As I said I've seen two ending to the game. One where I had all perfect and one where I left one very easy jiggies for me to get later. I don't know how many there are, but the non perfect one was a bit more entertaining.
Overall-8
I gave this game an 8 because while it may suffer in length and story I think that it is worth my money and does a very many things very right. Banjo-Kazooie fans should not be disappointed and may even find themselves playing it through more than once.
