Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy - The Path of the Superhero
Review by Sanyo
"This game needs to "beef" up"
Ultimate Muscle: The Path of the Superhero is based on a television show, which aired on FOX. The game is mostly spent on fighting other opponents with various moves and techniques. Although the show seems to be popular this game, however isn’t.
Story: 2/10
Story? What story? The story seemed to be that, there are some bad people who are trying to take over the world, and you must beat them up in a wrestling match to stop them. The story didn’t do it for me, I am the kind of person who can get into the story of the game, and if I do get into the story it makes the game a much more enjoyable experience for me.
Graphics: 8 /10
The graphics almost make up for the lack of story, almost. Most of the graphics look like they were taken from the show. But aside from that the graphics were some of the best I have seen for the Game boy Advanced. The animation was smooth and nicely done.
Sound: 2/10
Ugh, the game makers didn’t even try to get good sound. First, the music reminded me of what I would hear if I turned on my old NES. Second, the cracking of the bones sounded like someone was constantly ripping paper. Third
The music was the same that after a while of trying to listen to it, I tuned it out. In summary the sound was annoying, and dull.
Game play: 1/10
The worst thing in this game has to be the game play. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to play the game, and I still cannot figure out how to win the first wrestling match! The moves and things are simple to do, but most of the game is spent trying to land the moving curser on a color, so you can attack. Most wrestling games I’ve played, would make you at least punch or kick the guy a few times before doing a special move, but in this game all you seem to do is lift the guy up and throw him down.
Final Score: 3/10
The graphics really brought up the score of this game, However graphics shouldn’t be the reason you play a game. This game is hard to understand, and even frustrating at times. You should probably rent this game, since it gets dull and boring after a while. In summary this game was done poorly and we should not expect to see a sequel in the near future.
