Backyard Baseball

Story-

As this is a sports game, there is no story, but you can play a season and go through the World Series.

Gameplay-4

The overall gameplay of this game isn't that great, but it is better than many of the games I've seen coming out lately. There isn't much difficulty getting runs however, and I find on an average game I can win by over 50 runs, on a good game by over 75 runs.

Graphics-9

Aw, a good aspect of the game this game has excellent graphics. Even when I see my player trotting around the paths I can make out who he is. There is also great scenery on the ballparks you can choose from, and on them it adds in special things depending on the park you are playing in. Such as in Sandy Flats you will find all your players are moving very slow, because they are in the sand.

Season-5

In the season option you can use and MLB team, or create a team. It is just like a regular game, but you have 16 of them. The only problem I find with this mode is that the games can take forever, because you are winning 40 or 50 to maybe 5.

Regular play-4

Here you can just start a randomly selected pick-up game, or make teams. The games however once again take over an hour, as in regular play i usually win 150 to nill.

Home Run Derby-8

My favorite thing to do in the game. In here you pick a couple people to go head to head in a home run derby. You will mostlikely always win, but this is a good place to work on your timing, and have fun.

Practice-6

Practice mode is good, but nothing special. Here you can work on your timing, but it's not as fun to do it here as to do it in a home run durby.

Sound-4

The sound is not vcery good on this game. There are announcers, but they speak in jibberish, and only call balls, strikes, and fouls.

Music-8

The music for this game is just like any other sports games, and it does have a pretty good soundtrack

Controls-5

The controls to this game are rather hard to use. I found myself struggling over them a lot when I first got the game. At least on defense that is. On offense the controls are a snap, except stealing. It takes a lot of effort to learn how to steal, and managing over 1 runner at a time is near impossible.

Creativity-10

This game is very very creative. You can create your own team from a variety of names, and you can create a player to be just like you. You can also make a team with pros and backyard kids.(Only a few backyard kids like Pablo if you want to be a great team.)

Overall-6

Overall I would give this game a 6. You won't be playing it very often, as it takes so long, and the only reason to beat another season would be to play with a new team. If I were you I would defenetly rent the game before bying it, and if you liked it, go for it.
