"Best Damn Game Period!!!"

WWE Road to Wrestlemania X8! Read the title of this review and you'll know what I'm thinking. Yes, this is indeed the best damn game period for the Gameboy Advance. Last Christmas I got WWF(E) Road to Wrestlemania for a gift and I loved it. Within a few minutes I was hooked. I beat the game and got bored with it so I did a search online to see if there were any sequels and indeed there was. Around March I bought WWE Road to Wrestlemania X8 and I was hooked for a few days but then put it down because of my PS2 and some new games coming out at the time. Summer came rolling around and I was going camping. I picked up my Gameboy Advance and the game and got hooked once again. Havn't stopped playing it since! Play it about once a week since and sometimes more!!! Yes I am a WWE Road to Wrestlemania geek but who cares....I love the game and can't wait to see a sequel to come out. So here's the review!

Gameplay

Now if you've played any kind of Gameboy wrestling game before for example is WWF(E) Wrestlemania or WWF Attitude or even WCW Mayhem you will get use to the controls. The controls are similar to other gameboy wrestling games but much easier. This game can be pretty fun in Championship mode in which you pick a wrestler and go after either the Undisputed, Intercontinental, Hardcore or even the Tag Team. Also the difficulty depends on what you set it to. If you put the difficulty on Easy then you're likely to win but if you put it on hard you've got a challenge in front of you which is always fun.
Gameplay: 9/10

Story/Modes

Nothing much to say about the story. Nothing to it really. No promos or anything. The story is basically you take your favorite WWE wrestler and wrestle and win all the shopzone items with him. Then pick another wrestler and do it again. But the modes are great. Championship Mode is fantastic and Royal Rumble, King of the Ring and Gauntlet are all great too. But the best thing is when you get to make your own PPV and have Vince McMahon critize your work so you better impress him.
Story/Modes: 8/10

Sound

The sound is very good for a gameboy advance game. The midi's for entrance themes are very good and the regular music is okay but it will probably get on your nerves. But hey that's why they have that little volume control button on the side.
Sound: 8/10

Graphics

Best graphics I've ever seen on a Gameboy wrestling game and even any other gameboy game. I couldn't believe the graphics. The ring is very good looking, and the wrestlers are kind of 3D looking but the fans are still 2D. But come on it's gameboy advance. How much can you fit onto one little cartridge.
Graphics: 10/10

Replayability

Because there is over 100 shopzone items and you must win them all by playing with different wrestlers you will definitely want to keep playing. And then you will try to move up or down on difficulty levels so you're always having fun. I know you will want to replay this game over and over. I know I do!!!
Replayability: 9/10

Wrestlers

Now THQ got alittle skimpy on the wrestlers selection but it is still very decent. There are many top stars in the game but there is no Brock Lesnar or Big Show. :( But there is: The Rock, Triple H, Hollywood Hogan, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Kane, Kevin Nash, Rob Van Dam, Edge, Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Christian & Test. A lot of great talent but I think they shoudl've had atleast 20 guys in the game.
Wrestlers: 7/10

If you're looking for the best wrestling game on the gameboy advance right now I'd say this is your best bet. Grab your 20 bucks and go out and buy this game or goto amazon.com and get a used one from between 5 and 10 bucks. It's all up to you! I wouldn't waste your money on any other wrestling game on the gameboy advance.
