Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards
Review by Justdog11
"The game itself is a god card"
INTRODUCTION: The fine folks of Konami were working late at night in their office when lightning struck: ''Hey, how about we create an RPG Yu-Gi-Oh game?''. This thought created the stellar RPG and Yu-Gi-Oh simulation:
Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Sacred Cards.
GRAPHICS: 8.7
This games Graphical backrounds are amazing and detailed. The only real problem with the graphics is the main characters sprite is very poor compared to the likes of Yugi and Joey, but, alas, the graphics serve their purpose.
MUSIC/SOUND : 7
Nothing too special here, but the music is very appropriate for the areas of the game that they are assigned too. Like, when you are in a spooky ally-way, the music appropriatly attempts a spookyish tune. But when you are outside of your house watching a friendly dog, a happy tune delights your ears.
CONTROL: 9
The control of this game is very easy to understand, soon you will be able to softly zoom through areas and make card attacks with ease. The only complaint here is that the running speed of your character is extremely fast.
GAMEPLAY: 9
You will be stuck to this game like an addiction until it is finished, this game provides a euphoric journey as Yugi and Joey's best bud as you work with them to team up on the dark forces.
RE-PLAY VALUE / LENGTH: 7
The re-play value of this game is pretty good, you will still want to compile the ultimate deck and become even more powerfull after you have finished it. But, the length of it is very lacking. Oc course, it depends on wether or not you can restrict yourself from its splendor to lengthen the experience out or not ;-)
STORY: 9
The story of this game is based on the current saga, ''Battle City''. You start off as
[insert prefered name here], and meet up with your best pals, Yugi and Joey! There is a tournament ensueing so you all three make a pact that one of you will be the winner. The main villains in this game are Weevil, Mako, etc. just like the show.
BATTLE/GAME SYSTEM: 9
Fresh and intuitive. The battle system is extremely similar to the show. Although, they have added a new key part in the whole mess: Elemental weakness and resistance (EWR). EWR is very crucial to your victory in this game and it seems more interesting when EWR comes into play.
CONCLUSION:
I believe that if you are a Yu-Gi-Oh fan, and you do not mind something new, try this game out. If this game had the ''Duelist Kingdom'' saga attached on to it it would be such a master-piece (like the Playstation Final Fantasies).
