Worms World Party
Review by panda man 48
"My favorite GBA game. Fun and easy to play."
This is my first review so don’t blame me if it’s bad… so yeh. This review will be done in sections. Sound, graphics, control, single player game play and multiplayer.
Sound – 6.5/10. There is not much need for sound in the game unless you like to hear explosions or if you have triggered a mine. This can be very helpful in multiplayer but useless in single player. Headphones can be used but is highly recommended they are not as the sound of your worm walking gets a tad ‘annoying’ after a while. Some of the dialogue can be quite funny but other than that the sound effects are a bit dull. And the background noise is just bad.
Graphics – 8/10. I think they did a great job converting the graphics into such a small screen. You can see a lot of the battle field which I thought was going to be a problem. Animations aren’t all bad. Love the sheep running around. They even have objects in the background so you can see wind direction. Other than that there isn’t much. It looks good though, which is all that matters.
Control – 10/10. Very very easy controls. Can easily pick up the game and get all the controls down pat in less than 10 minutes. Can use L button to scroll around the battle field. Can do 4 different jumps using L button. Firing guns is easy. And controlling a worm is like walking down the street….. easy. Only downside is the weapon menu. Sometimes it is hard to see where the selection box is. But that’s a graphical fault, and it has been downgraded accordingly.
Single player – 2/10. Useless single player. Missions are easy and short and all of them can easily be beaten in under an hour. They don’t offer much fun.
Multiplayer – 11/10. I LOVE IT. Can’t get enough of multiplayer. It’s just got something to do with working with a friend to kill an elite AI. Or the rivalries that can occur between two players. Up to 4 people can play on the one gameboy, all you need to do is pass it around. I play multiplayer for an hour a day on my bus on the way to school. 6 of us play. 4 are in at a time and the first two out stay out next game. And I’ll tell you, its funny watching 5 people yell in surprise as the other kills of the last person and wins the game. Good memories. Multiplayer is the best feature of the game and offers the most variety. You can choose what weapons you want and how many of each you get. So you can decide to have a hand to hand combat only game. Or a pistol only game. The possibilities are endless.
Overall score – 9/10. Worms world party is a great game and I recommend it to anyone who wants a game they can pick up and play. The fact that it has no battery save has never been a problem for me or any of my friends, it only takes a minute to set up a battle. The battles are fun and the game play is fun. What more do I need to say? Go get it.
