Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards
Review by ChaosChao2
"It has it's pros and cons..."
Well, well, well... Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards, eh? I don't know exactly where to start. I mean, I love Yu-Gi-Oh! animé, card game, and video games. But TSC just made me sick. I mean, the card effects are different, added, or taken away, magic cards are now called ''Spell Cards'', including Riryoku, one of the promos you get in the game.
Graphics: 9/10
What boosted the score of the game was the great graphics. You can finally walk around (thanks Konami!) and the cards look great. The fire/sword animations look cool, and Bonz's face looks sweet. The face art and sprites are really something to stare at for awhile, they are very well done. Cards are simple but small, and I suppose Konami was just to lazy to put in face down defense mode cards for the player. But, then again, this is only my opinion...
Music: 5/10
Average. That's all I can really say. There's nothing 'good' about the music but there isn't anything 'bad' either. I keep my volume on, and I don't mind the music at all. If you don't, that's you and you don't like the music. Simply said.
Gameplay: 5/10
All around - NORMAL. The elemental system didn't play fair, but helped me in some spots, such as Earth Monsters defeating electric monsters with only 1 little tap of the A button. I get really, really mad when you have an awesome fiend out on the field, such as The Last Warrior From Another Planet, and your opponent sends out a Magician of Faith and boom! The card is gone. So, I have mixed feelings about the elemental system.
Buying cards was a cool new idea. When you win a duel, you receive some money and deck capacity, plus a new card that the opponent wagered.
Another thing is, you always have to have 40 cards in your deck. No more, no less. 40. Another thing is, you can't put a card in your deck if you don't have the right ''deck capacity'' or ''duelist level''. If you aren't leveled high enough as a duelist, you can't use certain cards. If your deck doesn't have enough ''capacity'' you can't use it either. This prevents you from using that really strong card you want to put in your deck, but can't.
Overall: 5/10
The game is nothing to celebrate for getting. Rent it, if anything. It will take you around 2 days to complete, and most of the time, less. Well, now you've heard my words. Have fun and happy playing (whether it be Yu-Gi-Oh! TSC or not)!
