SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman

"OH! who lives in a pineapple under the sea?"

I just got this game off my friend who was jokingly bought it about a week ago. And for some reason, it was surprisingly enjoyable says him. So I did what I need to do. I borrowed it and tried it for myself. Here is what I found out.

GRAPHICS
The graphics of this game is pretty neat and is not an eye sore. It is pretty well done and sponge bob looks almost the same as he was in the television show.
The background of the game is not all that special although it was decent and what I can say as ''would have to do'' and is ''bearable''. Good effort for the game maker.

SOUNDS
The game's soundtrack or sound is not too shabby. It could be a little bit redundant at some point but it is not annoying, unlike some other games. The special effects are pretty good too, and isn't hard on the ears. All in all, you can keep your volume up while playing this game.

CONTROLS
Controls are responsive but the way you want your character (sponge bob) to move is a challenge. Sometimes it would float or glide instead of just jumping and so on.

STORY
The story of the game is Sponge bob was taking Gary, his pet snail, for a walk when suddenly it smelled some Kelp and ran away to chase it. But then, as Sponge bob was chasing Gary, he found a treasure chest and of course, out of curiosity, decided to open it. Then came the flying Dutch man, fresh out off the box. Sponge bob thought that the Dutch man was a genie in a treasure chest, he asks for a wish, but the Dutch man refused. He said that in order for him to grant Sponge bob a wish, he needs to collect ten treasures and so he will.

GAME PLAY
The game play consists of walking in various worlds collecting coins while walk, crawl and do other crazy stuff along the way. The main point is you go and explore and bubble down the enemies until you finish your objectives.

OVER ALL
A decent game at best. It is quite enjoyable like what my friend said it would be. Although it has some flaws, the good points over rides the bad.

RENT OR BUY
it all comes down on how much you like sponge bob square pants. If you watch the television show and find it funny and enjoyable then maybe you may want to buy it. But if you are just a random gamer maybe it is best that you rent it first or better yet, do what I did. See if any of your friends has it and then borrow it.
