Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Tournament 2004

"Two Steps Back"
This game has many new flaws and the only new feature is a few more cards. This game had a Beta Testing Level of a PC game rushed out the door and could use a patch. Unfortunatly you can't patch a GBA cart.
Story : 0/10 Where WWE had a bare minimum story this one doesn't have any. The oponets don't even make text based coments when you select them or win or loose. This game is only about playing and unlocking new opponenets and booster packs.
Game Play : 6/10 let me say Yu-Gi-Oh is a fun game to play and a good concept for a video game. The problem here is the AI. The AI decks in WWE were built around the AI's strengths and although they were not competitive if you codded in a dream deck if you played legit they offered a decent chalenge. They also removed the heads/tails or Roshambo to determine who goes first step. The AI decideds who goes first. This means you can no longer select to go second if you choose. Typical AI moves are it will tribute a 1550 Attack 4 star for a 1400 attack 5 star and leave it in attack mode. It doesn't know how to use many cards it is given, never equips a black pendant, Dark holes its field when it is winning(although WWE did this as well), etc. etc. And finaly it cheats by giving it up to 3 cards of everything while you are limited to the 1 limited card rule(thats right 3 ragekis and 3 mirror forces in 1 deck). 1 Feature I like is no more code screen to build a uber deck from the get go. But lack of a good story makes it hard to struggle to win all the cards I've won twice before.
Replayability 8/10 2/10. If you have WWE you prbably won't even care enough to finish this. IF this is your only Yu-Gi-Oh it will provide some hours of fun.
Overall (4/10): Skip it for now and stick with WWE or buy WWE if you don't yet have a game. The only reason to buy this game is if you are a tournament player and need the slate warrior promo card (a very strong 1900 attack 4 star that weakens a monster that kills it by 500) with no weaknesses). ALso mind you it will take a looong time to build you favorite deck as you get booster after booster of worthless cards..
