David Beckham Soccer
Review by Mykas0
"His game!!!!!"
Introduction
David Beckham is surely a worldwide famous soccer player, so maybe you should already been expecting this kind of game. Most of the times these type of games aren't very good, since they only rely on the glory of somebody else... Will this game make the difference? Read this review in order to know it!
Gameplay
As you may imagine, this is a soccer game, meaning that the options in the main menu will enable you to play a tournament, enjoy a league, play a friendly match or even train with Beckham (I mean, virtually! :P He will teach you how to perform some of the things in the game, like passing the ball, scoring penalties...), plus you can... READ BECKHAM's story! Well, this may turn quite nice for fans, but a really boring thing for all the others, as I don't think people will enjoy reading lots of stuff about somebody's life. Once you pick any of the 3 options I started by referring, you will notice that you have an wide set of teams to pick yours from, but it doesn't seem to matter which team you pick since *strangely* all the teams seem to have exactly the same stats on the field. This makes it a strange game, in which you can just pick one of your players and have him dribble all the way up to the opponent goals, and then score a goal by himself! Strange thing, but at least in this game you will score goals more easily than in other games, and I know what I am talking about since I once won 8-0 in this game and in most fifa games I can't even seem to score 1 goal! This makes it an easy, in which even the worse players (like myself...) can score goals! Finally, I must say that it is quite easy to control all your players, but sometimes you will notice some odd (and really ugly!) bugs, like when two players cross and the ball gets lots in the middle of them, or even if you shoot the ball and no player gets it, the ball will just stop in the middle of the floor, waiting for someone to pick it, which isn't very realistic.
Story
The challenge of a man who wanted to be the world's greatest soccer player...? Nah, I'm joking, this game doesn't seem to have a story at all, but it doesn't quite matter since it is a soccer game.
Graphics/Sound
The graphics look nice, all the players can seen easily and stuff like that, but as for the sound, it is simply awful, since in the middle of the matches you won't even listen to any music at all, except for the small sound effects, like the the whistle...
Play Time/Replayability
Being a soccer game, of course this has a great play time and replay value. However, I don't think there is anything for you to unlock in this game, which won't be very good for people who like that kind of stuff.
Final Recommendation
Only people who wanna try their first soccer game (or are huge fans of Beckham) will enjoy this game.
