Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors
Review by Valkrys
"Finally, a good DBZ game"
When I started playing this game, I couldn't believe how good it was. It immediately got me hooked and I couldn't stop playing the game. The best DBZ fighting game that I have ever played, and I have played every DBZ fighting game that has been released.
Story: Every character has his/her own story. You can play the story from the anime/manga, but every character has their own unique story. These stories are totally unrelated to the DBZ anime/manga. An example is fighting Trunks as Ginyu...never saw that coming!

Controls: The controls are very good, considering this is a GBA game. There are lots of button combining moves, but once you start to use them, they feel natural.

Graphics: Very good for GBA. When you fly away from your opponent, the camera zooms out and when you fly closer, the camera zooms in. Also, all the attacks look great, but some look the same. The character models change (explained in gameplay) and how they do works well with this franchise.

Sound/Music: Awesome. Some of the best music I've heard in a GBA game, maybe second only to Golden Sun or Golden Sun 2. The music fits the mood of how the story is going quite well, and if you're fighting in a more training like battle, the music is lighter, but if it's a serious fight, the music is heavier.

Game Play: There's a lot to cover here. Most of the game takes place in the air but you can also land. When flying, you can dash or even give up energy to home in on your opponents at lightning fast speeds. You charge up you energy for ki blasts, ranging from weak blasts that use little energy, to massive, powerful blasts that take up either half or all of your energy. Every character has three massive blasts, one from the sides, one from the top, and one from the bottom. There are many different types of physical attacks, from quick, weak attacks to slow and powerful attacks. Now let me explain the level system. Each character has three different levels, from 1 to 3. Some characters change their models when they level up, some don't. They all increase in power, though, and some characters massive blasts change as well.

Rent vs. Buy: This is easy. Buy. The gameplay is so fun that you'll want to keep playing it, and different difficulty levels add up to more replay value.
Verdict: BUY
Overall: Well, there you have it. The game is very easy to play, with a unique and original battle system and easy to learn controls. There is even a tutorial to get to know the game better. With tons of replay value, great music, awesome gameplay, and good graphics, this game fits all the hopes of a good DBZ fighter in one small cartridge.
