Digimon Racing
Review by Mykas0
"Digimon Kart"
Introduction
As you may already know if you are reading this review, Digimon is a japanese anime/manga series which was released some time ago, and it followed the worldwide pokemon craze.
Gameplay
Did you noticed the ''Racing'' in the title? Well, as you may imagine it means that this one is a racing game, in which you will be given the chance of playing with your favourite digimon characters in some karts. You can mainly pick your character from the main characters from the different series, as for example Agumon, Patamon, V-mon, Agunimon (kinda, he is a secret character...) and some more. Then, you can use them in different modes, as a Cup Mode (which mainly works as a story mode, as you will need to unlock lots of new levels...), Time Trial Mode (well, you just need to beat up some records in different tracks...) and Grandprix mode. In each of the races you will see some black paterns in the ground, and if you step on those you will receive special stuff, like the ability to digievolve or even to use your special power, if you are already on your evolved form. However, you can just evolve 1 level, i mean, from the Agumon series you can just evolve up to Greymon, and there's no way for you to play with the other evolutions. There are also some cubes that you can collect in order to gain special powers, which may make you faster or even make your opponents slower, which surely will be a great help in the circuits that you will find, as most of them are weird, meaning you will notice lots of things in the track that will try to stop both you and your enemies. And that's all, I guess... There are also some surprises concerning the unusual boss battles, but that's for you to find out!
Story
No story at all... Meaning that this will be a racing game in which you don't quite know what is the reason for winning!
Graphics/Sound
The graphics look like some of the best ones I've seen up to now on a gameboy advance, you can see clearly your characters and everything else, however sometimes you may have some problems spotting the road since there are lots of elements which make it harder for you to follow. As for the sound, it becomes quite boring after a while, so you may turn it off from the beginning so that you don't have to stand it.
Play Time/Replayability
If you enjoy this type of game, perhaps it will have a big play time and replay value, since you have lots of different roads to play in and some secret things to unlock. However, if you don't enjoy this type of game, you will find it quite boring, as the races sometime are too hard...
Final Recommendation
This is a nice game for digimon fans and for people who like fantasy racing games. If you are in any of those 2 groups, you will enjoy this game!
