Gauntlet Dark Legacy

"Terrible, terrible game..."

Note: my reviews' scores use 5 as an average score, rather than 7 -7.5 as an average as most people and schools do. Therefore, 1 is terrible, 3 is bad, 5 is average, 7 is good, and 10 is amazing.

Graphics 2/10
Horrible. Characters are just featureless blobs. You'd expect to see some traces of a face, but no. The graphics are probably worse than GBC standards.

Mechanics/Controls 2/10
This game's interface is so frustrating. Loading screens go black for about a full 2 to 3 seconds (when you open a menu, select something, or move somewhere). It gets REALLY annoying waiting for things to load. Also, your characters move. very. very. slowly. Most RPGs and adventure games on GBC/GBA have around the same walking speed for characters. The speed in this game is about HALF of that, which means even walking across the screen is an excruciating experience.

Sound/Music 2/10
The music sounds like pots and pans clashing recorded at about 5 mhz. Any attempts at sound are drowned out by the terrible music.

Storyline/Depth 1/10
What story? No one even has any names. You just ... go off and kill things.

Gameplay 2/10
It's hack and slash, with all the fun taken out of it. Slow trips to the other side of the screen, uninspired enemies, god-awful sound just ruins it.

I can barely bring myself to play this game longer than two minutes, what makes you think I want to play again?

Tilt 2/10
A crappy, crappy game. Story doesn't bother this type of game too much, so I'll at least give a 2 here.

Rent or buy
Don't waste your money. Don't even waste 5 seconds of your time watching a friend play. (5 seconds is all you will get, because after that, they'll smash their gameboy out of frustration).
