Mario Golf: Advance Tour
Review by Deathborn 668
"Once again, Camelot pulls all the works for another great game!"
I couldn't wait for the release of this game in my hometown and when I got it it blew my mind away. It pretty much takes the characters and aspects of Mario Golf GBC and adds elements from Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour to create a great game!
Gameplay: 10/10
For many people Golf is seen as one of the world's most boring sports. Hit a ball into a hole-repeat 17 more times. However, MG:AT gives...advanced gameplay you could say. There is so much to do. For those who played MG:TT, it has pretty much all the modes that were in there. The story mode is the main attraction in the game. For those who just wanna get into a quick match quick mode is right for you. There are so many options and things to do and play which'll keep you busy for a while.
Graphics/Sound/Music: 9/10
I haven't seen GBA graphics look so nice and smooth before! The sound effects made by all the characters really brings out who they really are and the music isn't at all repetitive and for match play against MG GBC characters (Putts, Tiny etc.) have remixed music which sound awesome. The only fault is when playing against the CPU, before taking their shots there is a ton of lag, which get very irratating after a while.
Story: 10/10
Hmmmm? What's this? A story in a golf game? Strange but true. You are a well pupil of the once great golfer Kid, and after some mystery injury shuttered his Golf career. you are to follow in his footsteps. Going around the land and challenging the club leaders of the Marion, Palm, Dunes, and Links clubs and claiming their respective trophies, your main goal is to one day win a trip to the Mushroom Kingdom to playon their royal course-and to have a bout with Mario. There is so much to do in the main story including mini-games and improving your golfers stats.
RPG elements: 10/10
The story mode itself IS an RPG. To avoid anything else I just said you go around the land talking to people and do challenges. The RPG, although it isn't much, is a great addition to this game.
Difficulty: 9/10
What's so difficult about this? Well, there are Doubles match pla and tourneys. Your partner (whoever you didn't choose at the beginning) in a game is controlled by the CPU. No sweat you think? Well, think again. The CPU actually is no more than a ******* moron. It misses easy putts, hits the ball horribly, and gets you in a lot of trouble spots. YOUR skill will really eak in Doubles mode. Sure, the later courses are also challenging. Underestimating shots can usually cost you the game at times.
Replay value: 8/10
After beating everything, unlocking everything too all you can do is really rebeat high scores....
Buy or rent or no?
If you love MARIO, love the sport of GOLF, own a Game Boy ADVANCE, and do/n't watch the PGA TOUR, Mario Golf: Advance Tour is a perfect buy for you.
