Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun

"The gameplay is great but the story..."

One of the things that have been added or implemented in Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun in difference from the last three version is the soul unison system unlike the last two version which had a style system and the first one that had an armor system. The soul unison system consists in that Mega Man can "merge" with another navi, for example you can "merge" with GutsMan, once you beat him, you wil be able to use his soul, use chips that have 3 orange waves and sacrifice it and when you press ok you will have Guts Soul activated, and it last for three turns, one turns is each time you go to the custom screen by pressing L or R whenever the custom bar is full, but you can only use the same same once in a battle, I'll be entering into more detail in my review:

Graphics:
10 out of 10

You may say that the graphics are way too high, and you may think that you have seen better graphics, but if you com to think of it, the system is a portable hanhled with a 32-bit processor, in other words the graphics are great, there are others with this graphics also, like lets say, Golden Sun, which had great graphics but Golden Sun's graphics were pixelated due to the fact that they were nearly 3-D and too small memory capability, well the graphics in Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun are not pixelated but yes the are not nearly 3-D, I'd have to say that they are about 2.5-D, just think that the graphics are great ok. Now a little explanation, the net has been re-work and also has the world reall world they are neater and much different than from the previous three versions, and the soul unison graphics are really cool, I might even say that if you like this game you will like the souls that are in it, they are really a mix of Mega Man and the navi's soul, its really cool. And also the battle animation for every single chip they are all really cool, even though I have already seen every single battle animation of every chip in Mega Man Battle Network Red Sun then I know what every animation looks like, the only animation that I didn't like is the one from the GunSol chips, I really expected something cooler but whatever, just because I didn't like one chip it doesn't mean that I am going to lower the graphics score down, it has very good graphics.

Gameplay:

I am giving the gameplay of this game a 10 out of 10 due to fact fact that playing it is really cool, some people that really like to stick out the negative effects of everything might say that it comes repetitive, but the only moment that I saw that it was repetitive was when I was walking around the net with Mega Man and I got into a battle and I deleted the viruses and the nest battle was exactly the same viruses, even though I didn't have the LocEnemy subchip activated (I never buy subchips), so you can say that by my word this game is not repetitive, and also the battle sytem is quite good, is consists of you sending chips to Mega Man while he can use them and you can also use his buster and you stand on a 3x3 square lid while the opponents whether they are 1 or 2 or 3 and you can only stand on yout 9 squeares while the opponets must do the same, although some can stand on yours but you cannot stand on theirs, unless you use a special chip. Also they added the dark chip system which come that when you get hit 5 consecutive times without you hittin back and then you go to the custom screen, you will have the chance of choosing between 2 dark chips which are really powerful, but negative effects come out after that, and I think those kind of details shouldn't come in a review.

Story:
3 out of 10

Unlike from the other three versions, the story is really bad it consists mainly of tournaments and the bad organization is almost not mentioned at all, it really is bad, well at least I didn't like it, it changed totally from the last three versions.

Sound:
8 out of 10

The sound is just regular like in every out MMBN game it is exactly the same the the theme songs are not at all different. I'm just giving it an 8 because I never really got sick of the music.

Replay Value:
5 out of 10

This game was designed for you to replay it 3 times, and if you want all the souls you have to, but once you start over the 2nd time you get sick of it and it ain't fun anymore, only the first time through.

Rent or Buy: Rent if you only want to see the normal end, and buy if you want all the souls.

Overall: Overall is pretty good, although the story is really bad, but the gameplay is cool so it was worth it.
