Mega Man is back and better than ever in the fourth game of the battle network series on the GBA. Mega Man battle Network 4 continues the story of Lan and his net navi Mega Man.exe as they face the evil members of the Nebula Syndicate as they try to take over and destroy the cyber net.

Game play 10/10
The game play is basically the same as the other battle network games. You and your opponent stand on a 3x3 platform trying to delete each other with battle chips. However there are some new things to learn. You can now use full synchro once you counter an enemy which allows you to do twice the damage on your next hit. There are also Dark chips which appear when you're weak. They're powerful but when used you lose 1 HP point permanently! If you use these Dark chips too much Mega Man can lose control and use random chips, and won't be able to perform important soul unisons. Soul unisons are what replace the style changes in this game. Each version of the game has 6 special souls. Whenever you defeat certain Navis in tournaments you will be able to use some of their abilities!

Story 9.5/10.
The story for this game is very good. You have to save the world from a new threat the nebula syndicate and also become the best net battler in the world by battling in tournaments. You will be put to the test to see if you can defeat the darkness within Mega Man.

Sound 9.5/10.
The sound for this game is done well. The Sound effects are really cool and fit in perfectly. Music during battle is also pretty cool. However I liked the sounds a bit more in Battle Network 3

Replay ability 10/10
The game has a lot of replay value. After beating normal mode you are given the chance to do a hard mode and once you beat that hard mode you can do super hard mode. Even after that you will still have things to do.

Buy or Rent?
You should definitely buy this game if you plan on doing everything in it. Which version you get is your choice depending on the way you play. The game should be bought but that's my opinion.

Overall 9.5/10
Mega Man Battle Network 4 is one of the best games I've played and it deserves a 9.5/10. Let us hope Capcom will plan to do next Battle Network game better than this one.
