Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Review by amir128
"Kirby's on another adventure, four swords style!"
Introduction:
If you played the other Kirby game on game boy and liked in in a way, you'll love this game. Hal labs (creators of the super smash brothers series) designed Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and have done a great job at it.
Review:
Graphics - (8/10)
The game's graphics is no surprise on the game boy handheld with it's more comic styled look from the Kirby show. The animation is nice and humorous as Kirby swallows up monsters and blaze into a knight, fighter flame thrower and numerous other things.
Sound: - (8/10)
The music has that playful and fun style to it while when there's trouble, the music changes towards the more dangerous mood. The game's sound effects are marvelous, it reminds me more of a fighting game's sound effects.
Controls: - (9/10)
The controls are simple and easy, but may take a while to learn how to use Kirby to his fullest. The biggest problem I had was how to use the cell phone, since half the times I used it to get the other Kirbys to join me, the star takes you back to the clouded lobby. I didn't know how to suck monsters and imitate their moves until I beat the first boss. Well, that tells some of us to go read the instruction booklet first before even starting the game up, I'd recommend a quick look through it.
Game Play - (8/10)
The game is fulfilled, its a lot of fun sucking up monsters and doing their cool moves. That's why this game is so great, if you don't like the powers you possess, hit yourself on some monster and suck up another one. The levels are also creative too, differing from one another and the multiplayer is a lot of fun but you'll need to have three other people with their own game boy advances, Kirby games and link cables. Multiplayer is were the true action starts, but one player alone is good too.
Replay Value - Single Player : (6/10) Multiplayer : (10/10)
The multiplayer and the bundle of multiplayer mini games are so much fun, even after beating the game once or twice! One player may get boring after beating the game once so be sure you have friends to play with if your relying more on hours of fun game play after beating the game.
Worth the Money?
The game is 30$ and is well worth getting if you like plat former games like Mario or games like the Sonic series. If you're a Super Smash Brothers fan or are searching for a game with good multiplayer, put this game in your wish list.
