Godzilla: Domination!

"Mini Moster Mayhem! Destroy! Destroy!"
Godzilla!!!! Aaaahhhh!!!!!
Godzilla is taking a break from the Japanese monster life and leaving behind the horrible English dubbing attempts. Now, he makes his debut on the Game Boy Advance. Maybe now he'll get some decent graphics for his game and a believable story line. After all, he has had several video game attempts that didn't really fly off the shelves.
Godzilla: Domination! is really a fighting game that takes more of a different path than the other games the giant behemoth has starred in. The story is that a meteor is heading towards Earth, and all of the monsters from the Godzilla franchise are acting strangely. In short, they're destroying cities (deja vu?). A "spunky" Japanese reporter acts as a storyboard, giving news reports before every battle you embark on.
You get to choose from six different monsters. However, you need to unlock them in order to fight as them. There is another monster that makes an appearance, but that monster cannot be used. Bummer. Anyway, you travel through several levels, fighting other monsters that have turned on you. It's a pretty basic story line. So don't worry about having trouble catching on. It's pretty easy to learn.
Godzilla: Domination! also includes a multi-player option (of course) that allows up to four people to play at once. Different match types include three-on-one, tag team, one-on-one, and battle royal. So this should make for a relatively decent game to play with your friends.
Overall, this Godzilla game isn't too great of a game, but it does make a better game than other past video games of the franchise. Hooray for Godzilla! Hooray for Domination! Hooray for Godzilla: Domination!
Game Play: 7 The story line was on the right track but slightly failed to deliver. However, the multi-player options make up for it.
Graphics: 7 At first glance, the graphics for this game make the monsters look cartoon-like, almost like plush dolls, but the fighting arenas and destruction look a bit more realistic.
Audio: 6 The background music for this game is recognizable, and the sounds made by the monsters don't have a static tone to them, but they had more potential.
Controls: 7 The controls for this game are fairly easy to get the hang of, but trying to master the different attacks for the different monsters does add more to the game play.
Difficulty: 6 This game is not too hard to master because of the monotony of the game, but it is still fun to go back and improve your skills.
Godzilla. Large Mutated Monster, Destroyer of Tokyo, and the star of yet another monster game. That big guy never gives up. Good for you, Godzilla. Good for you.
