WarioWare Inc.: Mega MicroGame$

Review by Monkey Masher

"This is game is absolutely insane, but I mean that in a good way."

Intro:

Alot of people are getting really tired of minigames. However, and I have to agree, the minigame type of games were getting old and stagnant. However, WarioWare Inc.: Mega MicroGame$ is a fresh change to the Minigame Genre... Some would argue it wouldnt be the Minigame genre, but the Microgame Genre. A MicroGame is just like a Microgame, pretty much the same, but theres one magor difference. A Minigame may be about a minute long, but a microgame is usually about five seconds long. No joke, Im not kidding here.

Gameplay:

Wow! Great. Something for everyone. You see, in this game, you go through ever persons little Microgames. When you beat a certain amount, and then you fight the boss microgames. Tada, you beat them. But its a little harder then that. Cus you dont know what to do. Every single game is thrown at you, with a one, or sometimes two, word instruction. Sometimes its Dodge, Input, and sometimes jump. Thats all you have to work off of. The games frantic and gets faster. And theres alot of people you can play, and they all have many microgames. You can always play a persons microgames again, except it goes past the first Boss Microgame. It just keeps going and gets faster and faster until you cant keep up. After one boss microgame, all the Microgames from the on are one level harder. What do I mean? The game just gets a bit harder. In one for example, you're dodging one ball, and then on level two, you're dodging... well two. And it gets better. When you accomplish something, like get a certain number of Microgames donw with some certain person/developer, you get a minigame. Not a Microgame. Don't get that confused, I know they look alike. You get games like, Dr. Wario, Fly swatter, and so on, and so on. All great games. And yep, there is some multiplayer if you were wondering. There is a total of four multiplayer games, all great, and the first player presses the L button to do an action, and the second player would then press the R button to do an action. The action depends on the game. Also, another part of the game is the grid. Whenever you play a microgame, it is added to the grid. Then you can practice the game, and if you beat enough of them in a row without losing your lives, you get a red flower. Its harder then is sounds, because it gets faster. And when you do it the first time its level one. Then two, then three, and then it repeats. The red flowers? What do they do? Ill leave you to figure it out for yourselves.

My verdict: 9/10 Fantastic

Storyline:

A very small one, but hey, they tried. Mario is watching tv, bored, and the news starts. Immeditately, they talk about the latest videogame. And finally, Wario gets his first legit idea for making money hes had for a long time. Start a Videogame business, WarioWare Inc. He buys a computer, sits down at home, type type type, and hes already asleep. He concludes, hell call his friends, Jimmy, Mona, 9-volt, and so on. So they all make little games, and thus, WarioWare Inc.: Mega Microgames is created.

My Verdict 7/10 Better then Normal

Graphics:

It wasnt amazing. Some graphics were kinda neat, and some fit the situation, for example the games that are parodys of old games, are pixelized like the originals. Unfortunately, the rest of the games didnt have the greatest graphics. But it doesnt really matter half of the time because you're playing a game thats quite frantic. The graphics are a bit pixelated, nothing special, but you could always tell what was going on.

My Verdict: 6/10 Alright

Sound:

Insane. The sound is crazy. I liked the Music, it was perfectly crazy enough to fit the game. The sound effects were really cheesy though, but once again, they fit the game very well.

My verdict: 7/10 Better then Normal

Replayability:

Great. Thats what this game is all about. Theres tons to do. You can unlock Mingames, get high records, and just try for high scores. Sure, it doesnt sound like much, but this game is fun, the Microgames are fun to play again, the Minigames are fun to play again, and you can always shoot for the highest score. I bought this game a long long time ago, and Im still playing it all the time.

My Verdict: 8/10 Fantastic

Rent or buy: If you ask me you should always rent before you buy, but this game is definitely worth a buy. Just remember, its crazy, get used to is.

My Verdict: Buy

Overall:

This is a great game. The graphics are ok, the sound is ok, but the storyline and the gameplay is great. And it lasts long too. Do me a favor and get this game.

My verdict: 8/10 Fantastic
