Pokemon LeafGreen Version
Review by BostonFuse51
"Red and Blue are back...in style!"
This is a review for the game Pokemon Leaf Green. Pokemon Leaf Green is a game remade from the 1996 version of Pokemon Red, Blue and green (Japanese.) Next in the series came Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Silver, and Pokemon Crystal. After these came Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. And last but definitely not least Pokemon Leaf Green, and Pokemon Fire Red. This is probably my second favorite series out of the four available. My ratings would go:
1st: The Gold, Silver, and Crystal series
2nd: The Fire Red, and Leaf Green series
3rd: The Red, and Blue series
4th: The Ruby, and Sapphire series
Story: 8/10
The story for Pokemon Leaf Green goes a little something like this: You start the game in your little cozy room. Just like the opening of Pokemon Red, and Pokemon Blue. After you get out of your house professor Oak will find you and tell you that you shouldn't go out into the grass like that because you would have nothing to protect you against wild pokemon. He will bring you back to his Pokemon Lab. While there you can pick your very own pokemon. This will be what people refer to as your starter. The choices are Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Choose your starter, and you, my friend, are on your way to the greatest pokemon undertaking ever!
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics for Pokemon Leaf Green are super duper, and will knock your socks off, guaranteed. When they said they were making a remake of Pokemon Red, and Pokemon Blue with better graphics, they did not come close to telling you how stunning they truly are. The graphics are the best ever in all of the pokemon series, and my favorite thing about the graphics would have to be the little pictures that are displayed when going into a major area. Some of these pictures are displayed at special areas like Mt. Moon, or even inside of Diglet's cave. They are really spectacular, so you should check it out and enjoy it sometime. Another one of my favorite things about Pokemon Leaf Green's graphics are the pokemon! All the pokemon have such deep color, and are extremely easy to see.
Game Play: 10/10
The Game Play of Pokemon Leaf Green is without a doubt the best in any pokemon game so far. It will have you hooked in no time at all, and when you first turn the game on you will not be able to put it down. In the very beginning of the game however, the game play gets a trifle tedious. The causing for this is because you get at the most 40+ experience points, and get these sucky attacks like scratch, and growl. As you progress through the game, you get better attacks, and more experience points, therefore causing more enjoyable game play.
Replay Ability: 7/10
I do not necessarily like the replay ability of Pokemon Leaf Green that much because if you have a full Pokedex or if you love your roster so much, then I wouldn't suggest starting over, because I wouldn't want to do it all over again. Or if you want to replay this game with different Pokemon or for other reasons then go ahead, but it's still fun playing the game.
Buy or Rent: Buy
I am telling you right here right now that you should go out and buy Pokemon Leaf Green. Leaf Green is one of my favorite games, and I guarantee it will be one of yours to. You will love Pokemon Leaf Green's graphics, game play, and story. Pokemon Leaf Green is truly a great game, that should (and will be loved) by all of you video gamers out there.
