Action Man: Robot Atak

"Just one more..."

Introduction
Hum, seems to me that I am already too old for playing this type of game, as Action Man is usually said to be a series only for kids... However, I choose to give it a try, as it could have been a nice game...!

Gameplay
As said by someone that I once found on gamefaqs' boards, this is somehow similar to Metal Slug. I mean, you will be controlling the good old Action Man and two of his folks (I heard their name is Action Force, or something like that...) in a set of levels that will be played differently depending on the character that you wil play with. I mean, action man is an expert in combat and a good all-around character, but the guy in a red suit and the guy in the green suit with wings (I don't know their names, please understand I'm not familiar with the toys or anything...) have both their strong and weak points... Most of the levels are played as an usual platform game, in which you will need to advance across the levels, solving some occasional (and REALLY easy) puzzles and defeating the hundreds of robots of different types and dinosaurs (how is this possible? No idea...) that you will face in your way, and to help you on these levels you will be able to use some power ups that you find on the field, like pursuing shots or shooting 3 shots at once... But there are also levels that are played in a different way... However, those are really easy and may vary from a platform level in which you will play as a unusual character or a level in which you play as a little car and you will have to come to the ending of the level, avoiding all the rocks and enemies that cross you. Seems nice, no? However, most of these things were already seen in other games, and this one adds almost nothing new to it...

Story
As you could imagine from the title, there has been a robot attack all over earth, and Action Man and his Action Force decide to go to Dr. X's island im order to try to stop those attacks once and for all... Will this be an easy task? It's up to you...!

Graphics/Sound
The graphics in this game aren't perfect, but they aren't bad either... Although they aren't anything special, they do the trick, but won't make a usual player happy. As for the sound, at least to me it seemed so boring that I don't even want to be reminded of it, so I'd better not even comment it...

Play Time/Replayability
Truly, this game can be finished in less than a day, even if you are not a very good player, as it is really easy, making me think that perhaps this is one of those games made only for kids. As far as I recall, I could finish it in 2 or 3 hours... As for replay value, every time you finish the game you will unlock a new option (up to 2 or 3, I'm not sure...), which adds some points to the replay value...

Final Recommendation
Personally I didn't liked this game, but I guess that most of the Action Man fans will enjoy it. If you are one of them, get this game. Otherwise, it would be a better idea to stay away from this!
