"Third time's the charm"

Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury is the third edition to the Legacy of Goku series. All I can say is this is the best of the three by far. The first Legacy of Goku wasn't very good. The second one improved greatly but it still lacked a bit. Finally third time's a charm with Buu's Fury. You play with characters such as Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, Gohan, and some fusions. This game deserves nothing less than a 10 and here's why...

Graphics: 9/10
Very good looking. Okay for starters the characters look very well done for 2d sprites. The background looks incredible. The special ki techniques look great and fit in with the game perfectly. I don't know what else to say everyone and everything about the graphics is great. My only complaint is I have seen other games' graphics just a tad bit greater but not by much.

Sound: 10/10
Ha ha ha I love it when anime games add in music from the anime. That is the one thing to guarantee good music results because it makes you feel like you are watching the show. Keep in mind it is the music from the American version not the Japanese version, which can be very catchy. The fighting, transformations, and ki blasts all sound amazing.

Story: 10/10
Yes, this is the highlight of the game. The story is simple it follows the Dragon Ball Z saga starting at the afterlife tournament leading up to the final battle with Kid Buu. Those of you who watch Dragon Ball Z or read the manga should know what to except. However there are still a few things added that weren't in the anime or manga that make the game last longer. This is a good thing because the longer any game lasts the better. You will not be disappointed here in the least.

Gameplay: 10/10
Okay the gameplay is virtually the same as Legacy of Goku 2's. For those of you who don't have that game it goes like this, A to attack B to shoot ki blast D pad to move. Despite that this is an RPG the fights are in real time, no random battle crap. You use L to cycle through your ki attacks and transformations and B to execute them. Very simple but very fun. The more things you kill the higher your level ends up. You can find armor, items, and other surprises along your quest to take down Majin Buu. The real neat thing about this game is the fusion technique. Once you learn the fusion you must put a series of button combos in or else your fusion will fail and you will be vulnerable to attack. If you enter it in correctly you have 5 minutes before it wares of and you must perform another one. Also the different Super Saiyan transformations for everyone are a nice touch as well.

Replay Value: 5/10
Well it is just average. This is a game that you don't have to unlock everything to beat it. So if you choose to run through quickly the first time you can try again to collect everything and unlock all the secrets the second time through. Sadly after you do unlock everything you won't play this for a while like most RPGs. However in a few weeks or months you will be dyeing to play this game again like myself.

Buy/Rent:
Well I don't know where to rent GBA games but if you can borrow it don't bother. Just go out and buy this game if you are a true fan of Dragon Ball Z. Buu's Fury is a lot like Legacy of Goku 2 except everything is kicked up a notch. Spending $30.00 on the only Dragon Ball Z RPG that is based in the Buu saga is well worth it.

Overall: 10/10
It would be a crime to give this awesome game a score any lower than 10. It has great graphics, stunning sound, amazing gameplay, and an excellent story. For those who do not watch Dragon Ball Z may want to research it a little if you are planning to buy this game or you may not know what is going on. This game is mainly for fans of the anime. I can honestly say that this is one of the better Dragon Ball Z games that have been made and that is saying a lot for those of you who have played others. I recommend this game to anyone that has $30.00 to spend. Farewell.
