Mega Man Battle Network 4 Red Sun
Review by i r disturbed
"LOLWTFBBQ! ... Great job Capcom"
Gosh, I cant believe that Capcom could screw up this badly. I mean, the previous games of the Megaman Battle Network series have instantly become one of the best games of all time, so what happened now? Lets see....
Story:4/10
Extremely orginal story.. ^_^. I can sum it up in a couple of sentences. Enter a tournament. Help your opponents because without your help they cant compete. Enter another. Repeat above step. Enter another. Help your opponents yet again. Save the Earth from a random meteor that's going to crash into it because of "evil". My dog can make a better story line.
Gameplay: 4/10
Not much to say here. The battle system is the same old thing that you've come to expect from a Megaman Battle Network game. 3 x 6 grid, you run around on your squares shooting enemies, enemies run around on their squares shooting you, bla bla bla. What gives it such a low rating is the fact that almost the whole time you're playing you'll be participating in touraments. If that wasn't bad enough, most of what you'll be doing in the tournaments is HELPING YOUR OPPONENTS. Yes, that's right, before you fight someone, Lan usually finds out they have a problem which won't allow them to compete. And Lan being the genious he is, has his heart set on helping them.
Graphics: 6/10
Best part of the game I'd say. And it's still not good. I do agree they made it a little bit better then the graphics from the past megaman games, but it's nothing to praise Capcom for. With the amount of other mistakes and typos this game has, this is a minimum of what Capcom could do. But, don't get me started on the speech.. Ok, too late.. I did. With wonderful typo's such as "What a wonderful man she was", "Leg's go Lan!", and "There's so many electrical store", it's a no-brainer they had a trained monkey translate this game. Actually, after thinking about it, I'm pretty sure a trained monkey could do a better job then the folks over the Capcom translation department. Do you guys actually read what you translate?
Sound/Music: 6/10
Ehh.. Decent music, I'd still take any of the other theme songs over this one though. The most annoying thing is the song that plays when someone/something is in trouble. Considering you're going to be hearing that for most of the time, it gets on your nerves after the 5th time around the game.
Replayability: 1/10
Well done Capcom, you found a way to make us play this game over at least 3 times. Seeing as how playing the game only once nets you 3/6 souls, and barely a quarter of the total chips, you will have to play the game over and over for the full experience (Which isn't that good, trust me).
Rent or Buy: None
Don't even bother with this game unless you're a hardcore megaman fan. This is all just a pathetic attempt from Capcom to milk more money out of the Megaman series. If you're that determined to play this game, just go look through a couple of trash bins, I guarantee you you'll find a couple of copies of this game.
