Review by bullet sword

"Little worm with a gun. Stay away."

Intro.

A worm in a suit who shoots stuff. I just don't get it. Still. 2D action games are really great. This one just doesn't deliver the great game play you want. One little worm is responsible for it.

Game Play: 5/10

No. Just don't. Way too repetitive. Just a simple gun and blast stuff. You do the same in a lot of levels. You can also whip stuff to activate things, but there is not enough to do. Some levels are weird. You hang on a vine and punch people. Just plain weird, I'd have to admit. Very weird. the names of some levels just make you laugh a little.

Sound: 6/10

Music? What is wrong with it? Too dramatic and doesn't really fit the theme of the game. Now the sounds itself are not very good. Trust me. There are no unique sound in the game. Just about every sound you hear appears in every level.

Graphics: 8/10

Not quite detailed, but it just looks great. The backgrounds look good. Light effects are scarce, but what is already here will do just fine. Nothing special here.

Difficulty: 5/10 (a little harder than you think)

It will take some time to figure things out like puzzles and stuff. Just challenge yourself. There are three difficulties in all.

Control: 7/10

Since this is the GBA, the control fits well and it is perfect for this game. Just get used to jumping with B and shooting with A. No problem here. You really get into the feel of game-play the second you start playing.

worth playing?

Not really. Just play this game for a little while and you would most likely get bored. It won't last forever.

Overall: 4/10

As strange as it already is, Earthworm Jim can do better. Lack of things to do and styles of play just really makes this game short. You know what? The game is short itself. If you get this, you will most likely quit after a month or so.
