Review
Yo Ho! Yo ho! A different game for me!

Introduction

Wow, was this a disappointment. Picking up this game, it having the Pirates of the Caribbean movie logo on it, you'd expect an action packed, swash buckling game with excellent fighting, and good storyline.

Think again. This game makes fighting like eating a box of chocolates... easy, and usually disappointing.

Game Play: 2/10

This game makes you want to throw your Gameboy against the wall and burn your DVD copy of Pirates of the Caribbean. Not that it's challenging, its pretty easy. But we'll get to that. You can't keep your sword drawn. You press the "draw sword" button, and he draws it, looks at it, and puts it away. It's like "Wow, mom actually let me have a real weapon". If you come withing fifteen feet of an enemy, you draw your sword and can't move right. This makes the game very easy. To attack, you just mash down B, and he'll die. If he parries, then you can suspect that in a couple seconds, he'll attack back. In a pirate ship, you can't find your enemies, and if you actually get within range of them, you will aim wrong, and your cannonball will go right in front of them. Basically, this game will make you tear your hair out.

Sound: 5/10

The music is not bad, except the occasional Pirates of the Caribbean theme, which is played with some instrument not known to humans and way too loud. They never talk, and that is usual for Gameboy games.

Graphics: 6/10

The graphics are fuzzy, but all together pretty good. Jack Sparrow is a midget with a blue hat. Barbossa looks the most like his movie counterpart, but those are basically the only characters that are in the movie and the game. Sad, isn't it? The Port Royal guards look like cowboys, and the other guys look like who knows what.

Difficulty: Easy

Aside from a few challenging jumps, this game is very, very easy.

Story: 1/10

The story looks like someone tore up the movie plot and the makers of this game picked up a few scraps and made it into a rip-off game. They leave out Will Turner, Elizabeth, and just about everyone else except Jack Sparrow and Barbossa. They completely ignore the basic plot of Will Turner's blood being necessary to break the curse, just throw in the coins and you win.

Replay Ability: 1/10

No! No! No! If you actually get through the game without laughing yourself into a coma at how pathetic it was, it will not enter your darkest nightmares to replay it. This is an excellent eBay opportunity...

Buy or Rent?

Neither one. Let it sit on the store shelf and pretend like you've never seen it. You don't want to.

Overall Rating: 2/10

Despicable game. This game is one of the worst I've ever played. The only good attribute about it is...probably the music.
