"Tiny Tiger Strikes"

Well, this is the first Tiger Woods GBA game, and it really is neat to see in action. But there are definitely some flaws. Let's break it down, shall we?

Graphics: 8/10 Overall, quite good for the Gameboy Advance. The 3D view from the tee looks really nice. The swing animation is so good you will think you are watching a real golfer (i guess the motion capturing was taken seriously). However, some of the textures are bland, and the isometric view while in certain chipping situations looks blocky and distorted. Excellent framerate.

Sound: 6/10 There are different sound effects for weather, ball effects, etc. but they sound tinny (due in part to the hardware limitations of course). Okay menu music.

Gameplay: 7/10 Well, it plays like its big console brothers for the most part. It uses the 3 button press mechanic which has traditionally been used in golf games until recently, and it works well here. The putting uses a two button press mechanic, after you set up the direction. One problem with the putting is that you cannnot effectively determine where there are hills on the green since you do not get a putting grid. This can be annoying, although the course does not have very tricky greens, so I guess its not THAT big of a deal.

Did I Say Course?

Yes, that's right. The game's biggest flaw is that there is only one course. Playing the same course over and over is tiresome after a while, and this is problematic.

Replay Value: 7/10 The one course issue is bad, but here are also 12 challenges, and each one is unlocked a syou beat th eprevious challenge, adding to the game's long term value. There are also practice modes (putting, chipping and driving) and a driving ranger, but theses really don't add much in the way of longevity. But the game is fun, and since I bought it 2 weeks ago, I have played though it about 9 times or so, and beaten 10/12 challenges.

Overall: 7/10 Good game.
