Kirby & the Amazing Mirror
Review by kirbychamp
"Kirby! Kirby! Kirby! Kirby!"
(>'.')>[Got mirrors?]<('.'<)
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is an adventure game for GBA. It is a lot like other Kirby games for Game Boy. But there's a twist. No there are three twists: First, there are, not one, not two, not three, four Kirbys! Second, you can change your Kirby's color. Third, instead of individual levels, there are...How should I say this? There are multiple areas in each world that you can freely go throughout.
Story: 9/10
The story starts like this:
Kirby's just walking along one day when suddenly Meta Knight appears out of nowhere and attacks him. He takes his sword, and cuts Kirby into four different Kirbys, then flies of through a strange mirror. Confused, the four Kirbys hop on the Warp Star and follow Meta Knight through the mirror. They land in a large, strange room filled with clouds and two mirrors. Suddenly, another Meta Knight appears! The two Meta Knights fight a bit, then one knocks the other through a mirror, destroys it, then disappears. A mysterious Shadow Kirby shows up and disappears through one of the mirrors. And so, the four Kirbys follow him.
The main goal of the game is to collect all the pieces of the broken mirror and put them back together to save this new world.
Gameplay: 9/10
The gameplay is pretty much the same as Nightmare in Dreamland. But, there are new abilities: Cupid, Magic, Smash, Master, and Mini, although they removed several old abilities, such as Needle. You do only control one Kirby, but you can call the rest for help using a...cell phone! Again, there are nine worlds which each have many separate areas, rooms, if you will, which you can freely travel between.
There are nine worlds, each of which has a boss, each of whom has a piece of the mirror. You beat the bosses, you get the mirror piece.
There are also three mini games and a collection room. The collection room shows the special items you have collected, such as spray paint, which can be used to change your Kirby's color, and maps.
Graphics: 10/10
Muuuuuuuuuuch better than previous Kirby games for GBA. They added shading to the characters, which really adds to the effect. Other than that, the graphics are about the same as Nightmare in Dreamland...But better.
Sound: 9/10
The music is great. The sound effects are basically the same as previous games.
Replayability: 10/10
Even after you beat the game, there are still things to find, areas to go to, stuff to unlock. Also, this is the kind of game that even after you beat it and unlock everything, you can still just kinda mess around and do whatever for a while.
Overall:...Well, I can't give a 9.5, so I'll give it a 10/10
It's a good game. Buy it.
