Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament

"Our Floppy Eared Feline is back and now he's entering a Tournament of Mystery..."

Klonoa is now starring in his 6th game so how does it stack up to the rest? Read on to find out!

Since alot of people don't know Klonoa I'll give a brief overview. Klonoa is a Dream Wanderer. In all of his adventures he's never found his "true home" yet, but he keeps on exploring and hopefully one day he will find his home. He's a cat like creature with a happy go lucky attitude but can get serious when need be. Anyway enough Introductions.

One day Klonoa is walking along and a mysterious note falls into his hands. He reads the note and discovers it's an invitation to a tournament where a grand prize will be awarded to the victor. Before he has time to consider he is teleported to the Stadium. There he decides: Why not? It can't hurt to try and I've got something to prove!...and so this where Klonoa's newest adventure begins!

It's a pretty decent story and more is revealed once you complete the game. Atleast it's something different than Oh no Evil! I'll stop it! The end.

Now for the Graphics and music. I love it all! It's so catchy and amazing. World 4 has a Tropical Theme to it and everything about it is great, it's my favorite world. Not to say the other worlds arn't amazing too. Every last detail is beautiful and stunning. Sometimes the music may get on your nerves but for the most part it's catchy.

Now for the core of it all. The Gameplay/controls. You can't have a good platformer without solid controls and interesting level design and Klonoa knows this and runs with it. The controls are very simple. A to jump. B to grab. Hold A to flutter and that's basically all there is to it. BUT don't think this is a simple game....oh noooo! The level design is amazing. Every nook...every cranny...everything has a purpose. Also not to mention this is not your typical run to the right and kill everything along the way platformer. It's actually more of a puzzle game. There are several rooms in each Vision (Stage) and you must solve the puzzle to continue. It starts off VERY simple but later gets insanely complex once new gadgets are fully introduced and such. Overall it rocks! This is what you buy Klonoa for!

Finally the replay value factor! This game has 45 amazing stages. 5 are hidden EX stages too! So the main gameplay is pretty decent but don't put down this game just yet! You still have to collect all the Sun Medallions, Dream stones, get all the S ranks, and complete all the optional/secret visions! This will take you a while. I haven't got everything myself and I know it will take me while since there's so much and the game has a pretty good level of challenge. Even after you've beaten the game and collected everything this game is still awesome for pick up and play and after a while you might forget the puzzle solutions so they will be like new again. Overall this game will keep you coming back for more!

Well that's the end of my review! I hope you enjoyed it and I hope it helped you decide if this game belongs in your collection.
