Fear Factor: Unleashed
Review by scopelenz
"Fear Factor brings you fear for games."
Fear Factor: Unleashed, one of the many games produced due to TV shows. When I first saw it, I was thinking, "What the hell? A game for a TV show?"
But I was wrong. As one of my classmate bought the game, the other classmates were also very interested in playing. Therefore, one day, I decided to rent the game and see it for myself.
I must say, I have really high expectations for this game, after hearing so many compliments from my classmates. However, the game was really a letdown.
Graphics: 4/10
This is one part that was okay. The graphics were blotchy and not really colourful. You cannot really see the background at all. The characters look VERY alike. The game did not do really well for graphics. Shouldn't the developers put more time in it?
Sound: 3/10
Blah, you will definitely hear the popular Fear Factor show starting scene, together with the music. That part was not bad, the music was much alike the original one on TV. However, as you proceed in the game, there isn't much music at all. All you will hear are sounds telling you instructions and some screams and shouts....
My point is, the music is badly done and again, was not put effort into. This section has really drag the game's score down.
Gameplay: 2/10
Boo! This part is the worst! If you've watched the show before, then you'll be familiar with how the game will go. Yes, you are one of the many contestants of Fear Factor and you will need to compete with others for 1 million dollars.
You get to choose how your character look like at the start of each "competition". However, there aren't many variations to choose from, so I'm sure you will get bored with YOURSELF soon.
However, there're a few different modes that you can try. This gives the game a little bonus. You don't just compete for money alone.
Still, the game lacks creativity as the goal of the game is really really simple and straight-forward.
Replay Value: 1/10
Ha! I said the section above is worst, but the worst of the worst is yet the come. After you have completed one competition, then you will do another, then another, and another....... All these are a waste of time and you will be better off playing some other game instead. (Furthermore, you don't get the money...)
Rent, Buy, Destroy: Destroy
Unless you are really really really interested, I will advise you to just rent it. See it for yourself and find yourself holding a really bad game. Otherwise, avoid this game like you will avoid a bad contagious disease.
