The Lord of the Rings, The Third Age
Review by bigbrojmc
"A great game, definitely an improvement from the GC version"
When I found out that a game called Lord of the Rings The Third Age was coming out I was like Oh Boy another LOTR game with a couple million glitches. But I was like what the heck I'll try it anyway. I thought for sure that I was going to regret the moment I went up to the counter with my 30 dollars and say I would like to buy the LOTR TTA game for Gameboy Advance. But nope, it was a great game, a big improvement from the rest of the games. Well I'll tell you what's so great about these games.
Graphics 9/10 The graphics of this game is great. When I compare it to the Fellowship of the Ring game I say it was a major improvement. Of course for some people it might not be that good, especially for people who haven't played the LOTR The Fellowship, or if you have a DS. Another problem people have is in the Rivendell mission it's hard to tell the difference between an archer and a swordsman.(Note that if you get the game the swordsmen are blue in cloak.) I really didn't mind I could notice the difference. Anyway graphics isn't what decides if a game is good or not.
Control 10/10 The control in this game is perfection at its best. The A button selects units, select ends your turn start helps you pause and gives you information about the mission. All the rest of the controls are explained in the finely crafted tutorial. The game also has a glossary, making it easy to find those definitions and to find out what things do.
Gameplay 10/10 Great, the tutorial once again explains a lot. But unlike games like Fire Emblem, you can't move all your units in one turn. There are things called Command Points, which gives how many things you can move in a turn. For example, if your hero gives 0-3 command, you can get 0,1,2,3 moves in a turn. You can also get events like free move, which gives you 1 move in any flank.
Story 1/10 The story is non-existant. This game only makes you play only the major battles, making people who haven't play the game or watched the movies not know what is going on, and those that have will be dissapointed. This is what kept this game from getting a 10.
Longetivity 10/10 This game lasts forever, literallly. I got this in December and I haven't taken it out of my gamepack yet. With 6 generals, and bonus levels, and the ability to play multiplayer on the same game pack is really good.
Trust me if you buy this you won't be dissapointed.
Overall Graphics 9/10
Control 10/10

Story 1/10
Longetivity 10/10
BUY, RENT, or IGNORE
