Yu Yu Hakusho: Spirit Detective
Review by gold21
"A short game it is..."
Introduction- This game sort of goes with the show, but it's not as great as the show is. If you have seen the show then you would know a little of this story and what will happen. I was disappointed when I saw how short this game was. The people who made this game could have put a little more time into this game. Maybe the next game would have more things to it.
Story 3/10
The story will starts off as the main character,Yusuke Urameshi, who is a big punk and would pick a fight with anyone who stands in his way. The story starts as Yusuke gets run over by a car and died after trying to save a boy's live. Then he meets up with the grim reaper named Botan. The story will go as seen in the shows. If you have seen the show, then you would know what will happens next.
Graphics 1/10
The graphics here the programmers should have put in more work into the graphics here. The characters in this game have really bad details. The walls and the sidewalks should have been a little more detailed. If the programmers would have put in a little more work for the graphics here, then I'm sure that the graphics could have been much better.
Sound 4/10
The sound here isn't that bad. The things you will hear in this game are the punching sound and the knocking sounds, but I really think they could have done better with the sounds. The sword could have sounded really better if it was swish instead of a knocking noise. If there was a little more work here, then the sounds could had have a higher point to it.
Gameplay 3/10
The gameplay here is easy, all you have to do is punch. You can do some special combos, but you really don't need to beat this game. All you do in this game is go fight monsters and defeat the bosses. You will do this from time to time. This you might find boring, but there are people who might like to do this. In this game you will also need to get some items. You will meet up with some characters that will help you and you will have to switch between them. Other then all of the thing that I have said before, there are secret that you will unlock as you go though the game. There will be times that you will unlock new things to do, but after you have done all the things in this game, you can sit back and listen to the musics that are in this game. If you get bored at this game then you can go and play another game.
Replayability 2/10
This game should only take you the most four to five days. If you like to replay this game once you have beaten it, go ahead. Once you have beaten the game, you can do some sidequest and do some fighting if you like other then that, there is not much to do here, but listen to some of the musics if you like.
Conclusions
Unless you are a huge fan for YU YU Hakusho, just avoid it. This game was a big disappointment to most people. If you really want to try this game out, then I suggest that you rent it first and not buy it yet. You can always return this game if you don't like it. If you got it as a brithday gift or you got it for free, then you might want to trade it in for store credits. You can do anything you want with this game, but I suggest you don't get this game. I hope the next time it will be better.
