Drome Racers

"Ready: go!"

Drome racers is probably the best racing game on the Game boy advance, Lego has done great job developing this great game, using the 3D graphic engine, and it is not just about graphics, the game is fun to play too.

As I said, the most obvious thing in Drome racers is its amazing 3D graphics, you will feel like you are playing a play station racing game, the environments contains many cool things, such trees, dirt, ice, rocks. Each car has its unique model, and they look nice and real, like when a car is turning, you can see it rotating and the game zooming in and out as they go further and closer from the screen. They paid really close attention on the game, you see, whether there is one or ten cars on the screen at the same time, the game will keep its fast-movement and never slow down, which would be a major problem for a racing game.

The game features eighteen racers and eighteen tracks, not a huge variety, but it does not matter, this game is all about racing. There are several modes in this game, championship mode, arcade mode, and a quick race mode.

Championship mode has four cups, and with total of 18 races, each race will take place in a different track. During a race, you can do more that driving your car! Yes, actually there are may power up items, weapons, fire missiles, and even rockets to pick up and use, what for? These items can be used to have advantage against your opponents, and slowing them down. Each race you win, or be in one of the first three places, you will earn points, you can use these points to upgrade your cars, like speed, handling.

Before each race, you can participate in a drag race, if you win you will be qualified to be in the starting position. It is really important to try and win the drag race, because being in the starting position gives you a great advantage.

In the arcade mode, you can participate in a regular race, drag race, or a time attack race.

The AI is not cheap, but it will do anything to win. The game difficulty is low, it is easy to win, but not easy to get the best record, anyway you still have the multi player mode, and play against your friends, who will be always smarter (um..sometimes) than the AI.

You can unlock some extra tracks in championship mode, then you will be able to use them anytime in arcade mode.

Overall, I have one more thing to say, ignoring this game is a great mistake, you won't find any racing game that is better than Drome racers.
