Scrabble Blast!
Review by Mykas0
"Is this really scrabble?"
Introduction
Scrabble is surely a good game for you to play with your friends, but strangely this game has almost nothing to do with the famous board game. Don't get me wrong, fans will perhaps enjoy this as a backup, but you won't find many traces from the board game around here.
Gameplay
Once you get to the main menu of the game, you will face the usual options: One Player game, Two Players without Game Link (you will play once, then your opponent will get his chance to try making a word, and so on...) and Two Players with Game Link. I guess that most of the times you will stick to the main One Player game, so I'll give more details on that one.
There, you will find many modes, and despite all of them having somehow the same target (forming words, of course) there are some slight changes in each of them. For example, in some of the modes you will have to form words in a certain time, in others you will need to form a word using a specific letter as soon as possible and so on. You will find 6 different modes, each of them with their own rules.
As for the interface itself, did you ever played Bookworm? If so, this game will be played EXACTLY like that one, meaning that initially you will have a screen full of letters and you will need to use them to form words. When you do it, you will be awarded with some points and those letters will disappear, causing new ones to fall from the top of the screen.
Graphics
They aren't anything special, but I don't think they are very important in this type of game, are they? You can clearly see all the letters and the interface, and that's all that matters...
Oh, and strangely there is a baby photo in the Credits screen, no idea why!
Sound
Terribly boring, but since you will be busy trying to form words all the time, perhaps you won't even notice it. If you do, well, you can just turn it off!
Play Time/Replayability
This is the best thing about this game, since it may be considered to have an almost infinite play time and replay value. Personally I didn't spend many time with it, but I heard about people who had already played it for more than 150 hours.
All the different modes may put some extra replay value in the game, and perhaps you will even enjoy more this game if you have any friends to play it with.
Final Recommendation
Personally I didn't liked this game very much, but fans from the board game may find it amusing...
