"Megaman Battle Net doesn't work"

By far, this is the worst Megaman Battle Network game made. All the other games were awesome. I can't believe I wasted 35 bucks on this. Why do I hate it so much?

Story 2/10
A meteor is heading towards the earth! Oh no! I'm going to fight in tournaments so I get picked to stop the meteor! Suprisingly, that's what happens. I don't get it how Lan has to go through a whole mission for each character he fights in a tournament. I have no idea who this guy is! I'm going to help him do something/Stop him from his evil plans/Stop his beserk navi. Well at least you get a new soul from certain characters. You have to play through the game 3 times to get all the souls for your version. And what does this have to do with the meteor?

Gameplay 4/10
Similar to the other games. But there were a couple of mistakes. They took away styles and replaced them with the souls. Souls only last 3 turns and waste a chip. I know that's not that bad but I never use them. Also, many of the souls are just really bad. Guts Soul charged buster is a gutpunch doing 60 damage but chances are you're going to get hit and it's going to be broken before you use it. Also, they took away awesome chips and viruses that gave good chips. The dark idea was good though but because of HP worries, not many people use it and lots of chips require you to be evil. They took away the version navi chips. Last but not least, I hate how they got rid of the recycling feature.

Music 2/10
Horrible. I loved the music from the past 3 games and they come up with a new theme, crappy battle music, and even worse "crisis" music. One reason why I hate it is the crisis music is playing through 3/4 of the game. That's why I don't play with sound for this game. After MMBN 2, They should've kept the music frorm there. That music was great.

Graphics 7/10
Well the characters got smaller and the net looks smoother. The attacks are pretty good. I like what they did with the GunSol chips. The sizing of the buildings are pretty sad though. In castillo park, how do you fit on the top of the castle in the part that looks microscopic. When you go up the elevator do you shrink 5,000 times?

Speech 3/10
Same plain lan speech. The programs now speak in all caps which really gets me ticked off. Almost everything is abbreviated. Come on. Megaman's advice still doesn't really help. Most things people say are really cheesy.

Replay Value 4/10
Well to get everything in the game you have to play through it 3 times. That's not really considered replaying. It's almost like forcing you to play again. After I finished all 3 times I was sick of it.

Rent Or Buy
Neither. Don't waste your money. If you are a parent who bought this for your child and wanted advice, return it and buy either MMBN 2 or 3. If you really want to play this, borrow it from a friend.

Overall 3.3
I really feel like burning this game right now. And no i'm not going to lend it to you. I'm not cruel enough to let you play it.
