Ultra Keibitai: Monster Attack
Review by blue4639
"So What?!? Ultraman Keitabi (For Japanese Speakers & Fans)"
Introduction:
Although I do admit and agree with Mykas0 this game isn't as well built as most had hoped. Its actully pretty plain. Nostalgic (= NATSUKASHII)
Is all it is. Although if you were a Die Hard Fan frowing up in Japan and seen all the episodes UNCUT with the Original Endings. Unlike the Australian Dubbed versions aired in the USA with Alternative Endings. You'll find it to follow every inch of detail as the original Series. And even unlock special screens and events with pictures and voice actors from the original series.
Gameplay:
Its sort of low tech almost like playing Advace Wars or Godzilla 2 for NES.
Turn based Strategy and also gives the feel of most SD Gundam Games PS-ONE and Super Robo Taisen Games. Simple basics and some new enhanced features in play. Example: Say you have a Jet fighter. You can have it refuled in mid air or on land. Land the plane and bail out and still attack on the ground. Within your own turn.
Story:
Ultraman, Return of Ultraman (JACK), Zoffy, Ultra Seven (Original where Dan tells ANN he loves her & Hes Ultra Seven and returns to his planet)
Anyways Its follows the original Japanese storyline. And you get bonuses and hidden pics, sound clips of actors, and hidden features when you follow key episodes. You can even try to change the ending in your own way.
Graphics/Sound:
Just like NES 8 bit Graphics, but with 16 Bit Sound & Video Clips. Or still Animation with added features.
Play Time/Replayability:
Once you finish the game you can play again and review it with stronger enhanced characters from your last upgrade. Replay I'd say twice or 3 times. Only if you want to unlock all the Video Clips and Special Events. And the Bonus added Movie Cross Overs Or Special Episode Cross Overs.
I beat it twice. I left a game save for referance from the earlier stage of my conquest.
Make sure your able to Read Japanese and understand it as well. Otherwise you'll have trouble in this game. Reading Objectives to different attacks or strategies that characters in the game give you hints before the battle encures.
Recommendation:
Fans of the Series or Someone who can read and understand japanese.
I'm not a hardcore fan of ultraman, but like Gojira (Godzilla) these games are Natsukashii for me. Reminds me of my past before I came to the US.
I love being an American & I serve and Protect My Country, but its nice to reflect once in a while and think nostalgia of my childhood. I'd say you can too if you watched this series.
