Review by J J N

"Just like Pong! Except nobody wants to play it."

Introduction

You know, sitting here I wonder what is the target niche the game developers are trying to attract; is it the pre-pubescent? Or gangly teenagers? I doubt it. What I think the target niche is rich people, probably middle age, sitting in their yacht and playing this tennis game during the weekend!

Oh please! This game is boring as it is mundane. Its like Pong, except there is pretty graphics and sounds. Except, you know, this isn't the 1980s. Who actually -- now, be honest --- play this game? That's right, no one! That is why my review is the first one. Read on and I'll tell you why.

Game Play

The game play for this game is mediocre at best. No, mediocre is too grand. Boring is more suitable. Why? Because you hit the ball back and forward across the net with requires not strategic thinking. Perhaps fast reflex is involved, but that is all.

There are various modes you can play the game in, such as Quick Play, Arcade, Championship and Multi-player, where you link up the GBA to play with your friend.

Of course, I think most gamers want to play this because they're tennis stars wannabe, so this is your chance to get to be! You can play as Andre Agassi, Robert Baxtor and some other tennis players.

The game itself is boring. Why? You have two hit mode: quick and hard. That's it. Simple child play stuff.

Graphics

The graphics for this game doesn't shine nor does it fail. It does an adequate job at getting the point across. In fact, the graphic kind of reminds me of Splinter Cell for GBA. The graphics is so damn fuzzy you can't even see the face! All you can distinguish between the players are the color of their uniform. Well, at least the ball is nice and yellow.

Conclusion

Meh. I don't know; if you like tennis games then play this game. At most, rent it but don't buy it. I bet you can find better tennis games on the web -- programmed in java! There is little redeeming value in this game.
