Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Protoman
Review by NinjaZidt
"Another series..."
The story starts out as Lan wakes up from his bed. After a long pointless getting use with the environment, Lan gets invited to scilab for whatever.
Then Regal busts through the door after gassing the others. Fortunately(or unfortunately), Lan was out of the way so he wasn't found by Regal. Regal takes the other's navis and kidnapped Dr.Hikari. Later, Lan jacks into Scilab to fix a problem. Afterwards, Lan encounters Protoman/Colonel who,for some reason ,wants to kick Megaman's ass. After you slap him around, he talks about a team that will liberate the entire internet.
One by one, you mean navis and obtain their souls. And you start to get more clues about why Regal is doing this. You find out about Vision Burst, a doorway of a data image. Then some navis go into vision burst looking for something.
Later, Regal sets up microservers that make the townspeople go insane. That was a small part of his plan. Then the enemy navis made a grab for Gow, the dog, and went away.
At the end of the game, Gow is the key to SoulServer, and Nebula Grey has been unleashed.
Story:8/10
The story about SoulServer is interesting, but the connection with past games are confusing. Not to mention why Nebula left dark panels around the net in the first place. I didn't see the point of that. It's like how darkchips and shademan had nothing to do with MMBN 4. Thw part about Gow being a key sounds interesting too. But I don't know why the story kinda jumps around a but.
Gameplay: 8/10
Same ol' same ol'. You battle, that's about it. Liberations were a little more annoying that fun, which mowered the score a TINY bit. But what lowered the score by 2 is the fact that the things you have to do in the real world was pointless. I mean, why whack woodmans? Let alone do that stupid ninja act.
But with some new things in this game, this game isn't bad.
Control:9/10
Some problems with turning around in the woodman act though. But everything here is easy to control.
Graphics: 6/10
Err, I don't think so. Before you liberate an area, everything's red and dark and hard to see. Because of that, it took me forever to get through the UnderNet for thr first time. And did you notice about every area looked the same. Undernet is different and that's all.
Audio: 10/10
I liked this music in this game. Capcom did a nice job on one thing for once.
About some is a remix but most is still VERY good and nice to hear.
Overall: 8.2/10 or 8/10
This is about the third best game in the MMBN series. Hopefully Capcom will see the light and improve on every single thing on here, especially when this series goes to the DS. We do not want to see bad stuff on the DS. I recommend you still get this game and to Capcom: I suggest they get a better storyline and better battle stuff and get rid of the useless crap you have to do.Look back at MMBN 2 & 3 Capcom. Those were the good games. The story starts out as Lan wakes up from his bed. After a long pointless getting use with the enviroment, Lan gets invited to scilab for whatever.
