Power Rangers Time Force
Review by J J N
"A bitter disappointment. Power Rangers Flop!"
Yet another mediocre game made by THQ. If you remember Power Rangers: Dino, it was a game of poor quality; now they dished out another game of the same caliber (I'm not sure which game came out first).
Boring game play and bad graphics, yet THQ keeps making these Power Rangers games. I guess every kid is asking their parents to buy this game because the power rangers are in it, Mommy! Well, let me tell you kid, there are better games out there in the market right now because this game won't keep you entertain for any time long.
Let me tell you straight off the bat that the game plays for this game is just ugh'. Or other grunt replies. This game, like the other Power Rangers games is a plat form / adventure game where you must move in the level in and fight the enemies in order to beat the game.
Now let me tell you why the game play is horrible. There is no individuality and persona in this game. Every rangers in the game basically have identical moves in which they do. They're punch and kick combo is the same and so is there weapon in which they use (which is the same, believe it or not) what is up with that? I remember back in the SNES each ranger had their own trademark weapons and their own unique fighting style, which makes them so distinct. Now they're just generic and conformist.
Oh yeah, for those of you who didn't notice, the theme for this Power Rangers is time, therefore as the title suggest, Time Force. Anyway, the story of the game goes something like this: Red Ranger is tracking down someone who broke out of jail and he needs to be recaptured! Unfortunately the bad guy killed Red Ranger and went into another time portal. You, as the reminder of the Rangers went into the time warp and have to revive the Red Ranger.
What's somewhat good about this game is that you can play as any of the Ranger during in game by pressing the select button and choosing them. I said somewhat well, because there is nothing exciting about this stuff folks; all the Rangers lost their individual edge, so all of them are generic. They're all the same except for different color outfit.
The graphics frame rate for this game is slow, so at times you're going to lag big time if there is too much activity in this game. And for some strange reason (read: low frame rate) playing this game makes me nauseate)
In closing, THQ just church out another cookie cutter generic Power Rangers game to entice the kids (and their parents) into buy this junk. As for any wise gamers, don't buy nor rent this game. This game is just flaw in so many ways that makes it an unpleasant experience to play, not to mention a waste of time and money.
