Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi
Review by A Friendly Cactus
"A stunning brilliance"
After playing the two english GBA Fire Emblems, I decided to go to import Fuuin no Tsurugi. I downloaded the translation text to I could read along while playing...this was just stunnningly amazing. It also has Roy in it =).
Storyline: 10/10
Fire Emblem has THE deepest storyline I've ever seen a game have, plot twists, good villians, characters with good personalities that really add to the power of the story. The main character isn't dull and bland. Even the generic bosses talk and can add to the storyline. All in all, if you want a good storyline, import this.
Gameplay 9/10
The gameplay, while good, is somewhat repetative and doesn't deserve a full 10. you simply go and take throne in much of the cases. The gameplay itself is like this: Move, they move, move, take throne eventually. It's better than most RPG's I've played though....HOWEVER. if one of your characters dies, they will not come back.Remember that advice now. Also your weapons have a chance of breaking when you use then, unlike other rPGs. You can promote your unit to a higher class via promotion crests too.So it has all the makings of a good RPG but even more.
Music/Graphics 9/10
I've never been a fan of GBA music or graphics for that matter. The graphics are well done, the battle animation is superb, but the overworld map is slightly hard to see the animations well. The music is nice when listememd to from headphones, all the tunes are catchy too...dun...dun..dundundun..so all in all, it's one of the best things for the GBA you are going to find in a while.
Replayability 10
You can go different routes, promote different units, use different modes, use other units, a full 10 I believe. You can also play after you beat the game.
Buy or Rent or borrow?
Borrow first, then just skip renting the game because this is one awesome game.Of course if you can't borrow you have to rent or buy and return. I know many people use the rom but I don't agree to illegal activities.
Other games:
Get Fire Emblem 7 and 8, they are easier....but hey, it's still the same gameplay. Fire Emblem 7 takes place 20 years before this game, remember that.
Final score 10/10
Best RPG ever, UltimateNavi Signing off again
