The Sims 2

Review by LeeChaolan

"Not the real Sims but a Terrible SIMulation."

The Sims 2, The monumental sequel to The Sims. A strategy game letting you control the lives of your own little virtual people. It was wonderful idea and an even better game. Then the Sims 2 comes out building on that ....Except for the GBA version which is practically nothing like the Other Sims Games.

The Premise:
Instead of the Sims Action you likely expected you play as yourself or whatever you name your character as the main character of a Reality TV show where you must influence the people to make certain plot lines happen.

Graphics:
Probably the High Point of the game. The Graphics are 3D and Look really well for a GBA game. Character Designs aren't the Best but they aren't the worst either. The Biggest character design problem would be your own character who you create at the beginning of the game. Gone are the highly detailed customizations of the Sims 1 and the Real Sims 2 . You'll only have a few choices of clothes to pick from and although you will get to customize the colors they are all just one plain color and a bit boring. The Game environments are graphically well done but are nothing really memorable.

Sound: Sound isn't all that bad although it can grow repetitive after you've listened to it awhile.

Control:
Control is another high point of the game. Its easy to move around and you can run simply by holding one button down. The Game works with a Set camera angle which it would have been nice to change but it doesn't impair the game too much having it like that.

The Game play:
Game play is to put it bluntly, boring. You walk around and talk to people and raise your relationship with them in different ways including Friendly romantically and Intimidatingly. When you talk to someone you choose a way to make the conversation and then you select from a set of actions to take during the conversation hoping to fill up a crystal that will level up that stat with that person. Besides the talking you walk around the environment doing menial task and occasionally buying new furniture for your house though none of it is exiting. There are also Mini Games involved for making money or Simoleons as the game calls them. The mini games involve doing random things such as running from a Giant soda can. Unfortunately these don't really help the overall experience of things any. Replay Value is Low as there is nothing to do once you complete all the episodes.

In Conclusion:
If you want to play the Sims 2 don't look here its not the real deal find another version of the game to play.
If your not looking for Sims game play you might want to try this although be warned if your buying once you beat it its over nothing else really to do.
