WWE Survivor Series
Review by Robbie Kennedy
"Only get if you are a true WWE fan"
Now, I am as much a WWE fan as the next guy, but even I have to admit that this is a lackluster attempt at a game. Whilst the Graphics are great, quite frankly, everything else is horrid.
The graphics are great no doubt. At least I can see where all of the memory went to for making the game. The superstars resemble their real life counterparts which is quite cool, for the Game boy advance. But there are no pyrotechnic effects in the game which could have really made it shine. There are also no titan trons. The previous game, Road to Wrestle Mania 18, had titan trons so it puzzles me as to why they are not in this game as it should have been much better.
The sound is quite bad. The in game music gets repetitive and tedious very quickly and there is only 2 tracks that play, so, as you can imagine, you will be turning your sound off quickly. Road to Wrestle Mania 18 had perfect entrance music. This is not the case for this game as it uses really cheesy midi versions of the themes which really take away quite a lot of potential greatness from the game. There are some mat sounds for some moves but they do lag quite a bit. And the ref's counts confuse me. For pins, he counts out loud, but for ring outs, he counts on screen but you do not hear any sound what so ever.
There is quite a bad season mode to boot. You have to win the majority of the matches, and complete your quotas, otherwise you have to start the season again. You have to make the crowd happy and use different moves, but with only about 32 moves per character, it is quite hard to get difference in each match.
There are only 14 or so characters in the game. People like Triple H, Randy Orton (But No Batista or Flair), Cena, The Guerrero's and a couple more. But when the game came out, JBL was the WWE champion. He is one of the people not in the game which is very puzzling as he was the WWE champion.
Overall, I would say that this game is not that good. You should only get it if you want a perfect Wrestling collection. But otherwise, just avoid it because it is not really worth your money.
